I agree with Chase, If we can get a good protection plugin then we could merge them.

But.. should there be a restriction on the types of creative builds allowed in survival?

Perhaps a nice big area for them to build anything they like and any builds outside of that area would have to fit in with the environment?

ruins, abandoned shacks, statues and other buildings would be cool to find out in the wild but giant pixel art would look out of place :o

Just throwing ideas out there

I agree, this way it doesn't ruin the exploration aspect of survival.

What hardware did you settle for?

AMD FX 8320, M5A97 evo r2,8GB Ram, 128 Samsung SSD, 3TB Seagate HDD, GTX 660 and a Corsair CX600M

A snug fit :p

My old gpu next to new one, I knew they were bigger but I wasn't expecting that size

 GTX 660

Booo!!

AMD or bust :p

Nice set-up though, a huge upgrade indeed. I've been wanting to upgrade to 8350, but holding off to see what Steamroller comes out with. 9000 series (9950?) will be my next major upgrade, or maybe later on next year for DDR4.

I tried an amd card a few years back and I couldn't cope with it and brought the gt 220 and it was noticeably less jagged so I decided to match my new one to my mobo  :P I've been playing Metro: Last Light and Tomb Raider on ultra settings

How do you become a Citizen my minecraft name is Lavinski

No offence but we should not let one posters in because we have a strong correlation between low post count and the likelihood for them to troll. We should have a minimum post count of 100 for new Citizens.

Well now that Mojang has stated that 1.6 will release this coming week we can start looking into the reset. And upgrade thankfully there has been a long test period for this build so the plugin developers have had a while to update.

Also, I personally think we should abolish Creative all together, since when I started on the server, Creative is almost always dead. It seems worthless having multiple mods installed just for the map to be used by one or two people.

The Minecraft 1.6 pre-release is out, with 1.6 final to follow on Monday, July 1st: https://mojang.com/2013/06/minecraft-1-6-pre-release/

Timan: Would it make sense to move the server to the pre-release over the weekend - create new map, set up a spawn and then let people have at it?

Then it would need to be reset when the final 1.6 comes out? Or it can just be upgraded?

The pre release update is the same update then intend to push on Monday unless someone finds a game breaking bug.

i would hope as long as this patch has been available that most of the mods are already up to date. however it will be exciting once it hits to see everyone running around on horses.

we'd still have to reset again more than likely do to bukkit handling worlds slightly differently

Yea wouldn't make sense to reset it, have people build, then reset it again a week later or few days.

it will most likely still be several weeks from now given bukkit's history of releasing updates for latest versions

    • DXVK generally performs better on Linux (using Wine/Proton) than on Windows. Because Linux utilizes highly optimized, open-source Vulkan drivers (like RADV/ACO) that were specifically built for AMD Radeon hardware, the translation of Direct3D 9/11 to Vulkan is highly efficient. But if you take the trouble to watch my video, you can see that there are also advantages for Nvidia users. You see that I run Assassin's Creed Odyssey on 4GB RAM and on an i3-3240. What do you think are the minimum system requirements for windows11? For CPU-based rendering, Linux is generally faster than windows11 by about 15% due to lighter background overhead and efficient kernel scheduling.
