I keep hearing so many good things about this game, but once again, I get to my house where I go to bed, wake up, and then have no further instructions. How do you follow the storyline when you don't have a mission?

How far in are you?

Switch to a new character if they are available, do a strangers and freaks mission? call everyone in your contacts. something will work

Not very. I was following the guys and followed the instructions to my house and went to bed. When I got up, there was nothing. No more prompts what to do, no missions, nothing. I figured it being a story I would have some kind of guidance on what to do. Maybe I am playing wrong. I'll try what you said.

Like, the very beginning, when playing as Franklin?

Walk outside.

Been running around most of the day with 4 friends, doing most of the non-job stuff we can all fit into together and survival when someone is temporarily away. So mug fun! My buddy is now 'dunce-capped' as a "bad sport" so he cannot get with us for 2 days haha trying to figure out if it is real days or in-game days.

So on my 2nd play through now, first real attempt at 100%, currently 92%, I am just now realizing how significant saving the assassination missions (Lester to Franklin) for post-story are. Old news to many but properly manipulating the stock market with all heist funds (roughly $25 million each) ends up being about $870 million total!! I have no use for nearly 1 billion dollars but hey! Its awesome!

comes in handy when buying the super expensive properties

To those of you who have already played it: do you feel like it's bigger than GTA:SA?

Now there have been a lot of claims that it is, yet the maps just seems smaller to me even taking the scales in mind.

What do you think?

I think it feels smaller because you can get across it a lot quicker due to the wider roads and faster cars.

With San Andreas you were constantly battling traffic and the rubbish GPS.

Well that was kinda fun imo. I mean they're supposed to drive rusty pickups and tractors in the country side not sport cars right?

If you still have San Andreas? walk or run starting from the airport on GTAV to the northern shoreline and then in SA do the same and then, get back to us lol

San Andreas didn't have GPS it had location point marking. Battling traffic yes bc cars would spawn out of no where in front of you, LS is smaller compared to it from SA.

Yes. They should drive sports cars

I just want my 500k and heists :p

My friend can't stand what I've done to Michael, but when he needed all that money to rebuild the guys house, I figured what better way to make it then by selling Meth? ;)

I cannot stand these stunt jumps, I simply cannot master keeping my vehicle flat/straight while in flight...

Same here, i'm sure for me it's pure luck if the car stays straight!

The controls always stay the same - left/right for rotation left and right, back to tilt upwards, and forward to tilt downwards. The problem is the slow-mo camera often shows a completely different angle which makes it confusing. Just remember to imagine you are watching the vehicle from behind and you should be OK.

I also cannot do the stunt jumps to save my life. Even though I get the whole concept that the view the camera shows is different, it really seems like I have zero control of the car in the air. It is like it is not responding at all.

So the game says I am at 50% finally, but I have only done one strangers and freaks side mission, so wondering how far along I am in the main story...

I just went as Franklin to rescue Michael in the warehouse when he was being held by the Chinese that thought he was Trevor's lover.

Do I still have a long way to go with the main story or am I close?

Speaking of that latest mission I played, it was interesting to see how the game adapted to me doing something...

The first time I drove away from the warehouse and was trying to lose the chinese, I got all the way by Michaels house, still had to lose the car tailing me, so tried a Sticky Bomb. Unfortunately I also blew myself up. LOL
So on the Retry, I put a sticky bomb on the car tailing me before I even drove a block, took it out right away. Was on my way to Michaels when out of nowhere I had 2 stars and cops were on my ass. The game no doubt introduced the cops so it was not such an easy drive back to Michaels.

Thought that was interesting, yet kind of stupid.

You're pretty much at the end now.

You can check how close you are by going into stats from the pause menu and selecting 100% Checklist.

As others have said, my issue isn't with point of view throwing me off, it feels like I have no control of the car once I take off and that no matter how straight and flat the take off, even if I dont touch the left stick my car goes absolutely crazy regardless of speed, ive got like 6/50, all luck, and I am at 98.5% done, stunt jumps (25/50) is literally all I have left for 100% achievement.
