Hmm..I installed some updates that I didn't before, and I think it installed .NET even though I already had it (Probably forgot to make sure it was uncheked), and got the .NET error, though I hadn't before.

I was thinkin'... in the error it says: "netfx.log", do you have one on your system? If so, can you post it for me?

Did a search and couldn't find it, but it might've ended up being deleted when I shuffled some files. :(

I have been unsuccessful creating a CD that autoruns of the December Update. I downloaded the full update file and burned to a CD more than 9 times. Each time I inserted the disk in the CD/DVD drives, the AP menu didn't pop up; double-clicking the CD icon, gives an error message saying that the system cannot find AutoPatcher.exe.

The AP is an awesome accomplishment. Keep up the great work!

Thanks in advance for your help.

sent you a PM kajouma that will explain how to fix that. Its very simple :)

Somehow you got the version that was going to be released before we fixed that.

Uh-oh! That means somehow one of the old versions slipped out somewhere! Okay, this is what you do...

Rename:

AutoPatcherXP Menu.exe --> AutoPatcherXP_Menu.exe

AutoPatcher Menu.ico --> AutoPatcher_Menu.ico

AutoPatcher Menu.apm --> AutoPatcher_Menu.apm

And edit the autorun.inf and change:

[autorun]

open=AutoPatcher Menu.exe

icon=AutoPatcher Menu.ico

to

[autorun]

open=AutoPatcher_Menu.exe

icon=AutoPatcher_Menu.ico

That will fix that issue. (Y)) I thought we fixed it, but I guess someone somewhere got the first flawed version (that's the only flaw).

EDIT - Looks like AgEnTsMiTh beat me to it... anywho, anyone having this prob, this will fix it. :DD

i know the MD5 sum was posted earlier...

but i'd really like to see a sum for the executable package, as well as for all the files when unpacked...

i've downloaded several different "versions" of this release, several different hashes.

i'd like to figure out which one is the right one! lol

upon further investigation...

the difference is between the file in the torrent, and http downloads:

The underscore in filenames rather than spaces in the root directory. HTTP has underscores, torrent has space. i assume http is the most recent because you answered a question on fixing the autorun with underscores.

in that case, the correct md5 sum is:

903eb584fe8a3d90f80e97a94ebb09be

the torrent has a sum of:

eedac023993c61025ecc6e6e3f10633c

    • Absolutely NOBODY has suggested such a conclusion. I am affirming the sober reality check that AV2's overall market adoption will take longer than AV1's adoption rate -- which, by the way, is the whole point of the article! While PCI-SIG is productive (on paper), other WGs have created all sorts of confusing progress plans that consumers have tuned-out of their improvements... HTML/W3C, USB, HDMI, BT, WIFI (ieee802.11) as a few other groups where spec naming conventions, split progress paths, overlapping ambitions... I'm not critiquing the AV specs group; I'm simply affirming that adoption for AV2 faces headwinds beyond the macroeconomics of it all.
