don't worry I got it working now just cant use the new Lumia camera now

Better roll back because there are some complications like partition stitching,

Might not get next build or updating to next build might corrupt partition setup.

Better roll back now to w8 with recover tool for WP.

  • Preview for Developers and Windows Insider are two different programs. The former is more of a "very close to release" version of the OS, where Windows Insider is very early in the development process. It looks like Preview for Developers will continue. (Source)

Does it have MSFT Store inbuilt?

Do w8 app work fine??

IS it smooth?

Store is there

Tried facebook app, and it opened.

Seems to be no better no worse than 8.1 was

Still looks like ass. lol.

I don't use this phone as a daily anything. I just install developer releases on it to play with new versions of Windows phone OS'es.

Couldn't answer any of those questions.

I don't use this as a phone, as mentioned above

I haven't really messed with it that much. the WP Os is still an eye sore, so I don't use it that much. I think i've played with WP10 like a total of 5 mins.

Microsoft Updates Windows Insider App to Prevent Preview Hack

latest update for the Windows Inside application is supposed to prevent users from hacking the Fiddler app and redirect Windows 10 Preview updates to unsupported smartphones.

Owners of unsupported smartphones with microSD cards can still hack the Preview

Obviously, this hasn't been confirmed by Microsoft on the changelog, but there have been many reports claiming that you can no longer hack your way into Microsoft's apps to bring Windows 10 Preview on your smartphone if you update to the latest version of Windows Insider app.

This means that if you haven't already installed Windows 10 for Phone Technical Preview on your unsupported smartphone, but plan on doing it soon, then you shouldn't update your Windows Insider app.

As for when Microsoft will enable access to this version of Windows Phone for additional smartphone models, that's a bit hard to speculate.

According to a post by Gabe Aul, Microsoft is in the midst of testing Windows 10 on a variety of different Lumia handsets. While there isn't an exact date for release, there is still more than likely a week of testing that needs to be performed in order to insure a successful build can be pushed to the expanded list. Although this is not final, Aul and the team intend to push out the Windows 10 build to the devices listed below.

    Lumia 1020
    Lumia 1320
    Lumia 1520
    Lumia 520
    Lumia 525
    Lumia 526
    Lumia 530
    Lumia 530 Dual Sim

    Lumia 638
    Lumia 720
    Lumia 730
    Lumia 730 Dual SIM
    Lumia 735

Microsoft Lumia 435 Dual SIM DTV
    Microsoft Lumia 532
    Microsoft Lumia 532 Dual SIM

Naturally, Aul has cautioned that the list above is preliminary and could changed depending on what kinds of bugs might arise out of the testing session

Something is quite messed up with the power usage on the 10 preview though.

in the 4 hours since I took mine off charging this morning after it installed tonight, it went down to 10% with barely any actual usage. just laying idle being hot doing who knows what.

After installing the update things get slower than Android phone, battery hog, sim wasnt detected till a hard reset, unfinished crappy apps(outlook, calendar) and settings

There wasnt much to see either.. other than Project spartan which takes up a lot of screen for top and bottom bar :/

hmm Im not sure about this. My phone is running quite slow with this preview.

Is there anyway to do a fresh install of the tech preview as mine was an upgrade ( as were most im assuming)

unforunately, there isn't. I think this is due to phone carriers having different firmware for each device, it would require a ROM of Windows 10 for each supported device on each carrier in the world

i would try the update from a clean 8.1 flash. you can use the software recovery tool to get back on 8/8.1,and then update your way to 10tp

I had another blast at this today and all I did was install the w10 tech preview again (on top of an empty 8.1) then reformatted the phone using the inbuilt tool to get it right back to nothing.

Much better!! There are a few obvious glitches in respect to almost every menu option staying open in the background but overall I like it a lot.

Very obviously an alpha but it is a good start

    • Snap Inc. launches new SPECS augmented reality glasses (for 'just' $2,195) by Aditya Tiwari Image: Snap Inc. Smartglasses powered by augmented reality are the latest fashion because the smartphone market is slowly reaching saturation. Snap Inc. announced its latest AR-powered smartglasses, called SPECS, that aim to strike a middle ground between underpowered AI glasses and heavy headsets you can't wear all the time. Available in two sizes, Snap SPECS are made from high-performance Swiss TR90 polymer and feature removable inserts to support prescription lenses. Its 47mm model weighs about 132g; the bigger 52mm model weighs 136g. Snap Inc has been spreading the word about the new glasses for a while now. Earlier this year, it even spun off its smart glasses team into a subsidiary called Specs Inc. Its proprietary LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) display delivers a 51-degree field of view and 16 million colors. Snap says the device gives the feel of a 24-inch desktop monitor when you're working, and of a 115-inch home cinema screen placed about 10 feet away when watching a movie. A pair of custom stereo speakers and 6x high-SNR MEMS microphones are built into the temples of the smartglasses to deliver open-ear audio while you cast a screen, stream content, open a whiteboard, or collaborate with others. Snap Inc. patted itself on the back, saying the smartglasses don't need tethering or a puck to connect to a computer. Under the hood, SPECS draw its power from two Snapdragon processors: one for computer vision and another for running Lenses. The device supports fast hand tracking, low latency, and responsive interactions that help digital content feel anchored in the real world, according to the company, which claims that SPECS can "deliver 7-millisecond motion-to-photon latency." The smartglasses offer up to four hours of battery life on a single charge while providing AI assistance, Bluetooth notifications, Lenses, audio/video playback, and more. The battery life could jump to 20 hours of mixed use when the charging case is included. Image: Snap Inc. You can view and interact with AR Lenses anchored directly to the physical world around you, and an on-board AI assistant uses the camera to see what's around to answer questions or provide real-time help with tasks. Snap Inc. noted that it filed more than 7,000 patents during the development of SPECS. It's trying to build the required digital ecosystem around the smartglasses, and said that developers have already published hundreds of Lenses for SPECS. Moreover, their electrochromic lenses use the same technology available in Boeing 787 Dreamliner windows, enabling them to shift from clear to tinted in just 10 seconds when you walk out of your house. Snap SPECS are now available for pre-order on the official website with a $2,195 price tag ($200 refundable deposit). The smartglasses are expected to ship in the US, UK, and France during the Fall this year.
    • Sound Booster 1.13 Build 575 by Razvan Serea Increase volume on your laptop. Boost the volume of even very quiet speakers. Raise volume above maximum. Letasoft Sound Booster can be used as an extra amplifier when the volume of the program you are listening to is too low for comfortable listening and you feel that your PC’s speakers can produce a louder sound. This can be the case when the audio or video has been recorded at the level below normal. Or, for example, when the other person’s microphone you are talking to on Skype, is not working properly. There can be a plenty of other reasons why the sound is being too quiet and there is not much you can do about it except buy external speakers. Sound of any application that is being played in the system can be amplified up to 500%. Letasoft Sound Booster can raise volume of programs like web browsers, on-line communication software (Teams, Discord, Zoom), any kind of media player or games. Simply put, volume of virtually any program that can play any sound in PC, can be boosted to a comfortable level with Letasoft Sound Booster. You can control current volume with the pop-up slider from the system tray. Alternatively, you can assign system-wide hot keys for increasing and decreasing, and use them when you need to adjust volume Letasoft Sound Booster constantly monitors current gain level and prevents samples from clipping, thus reducing all major sound distortions.
