Xbox One 'New Experience' Update

is the volume back up and running as well.

For me the picture quality was fixed (and slightly improved at that) at the expense of volume crapping out.

What was your issue with the volume and i'll check? I run my sound through speakers out of the TV.

After i posted my post, i got another massive update (around 400MB) last night (18:00 GMT) which seems to have polished the update some more. So far not found a single issue (although not used a huge amount) and it seems a lot smoother.

They're pretty much just fixing bugs and so on now, I think they have the final build and are just patching it.  Do you guys notice if the version number changes with each update this week?

It's been incrementing by .00001, yes.

Sounds good, so it looks like the build/version you have now is pretty much final and is only getting bug fixed/patched till the final deadline, hell, I bet the people in the preview will get yet another final update on the 12th along with everyone else and not have it sooner already like in the past.

Picture use to be a pinch grainy (has been more than fixed) but about 2-3 updates back, the sound broke when watching tv through the Xbox One.  Picture looks amazing nothing comes out of the tv speakers or my sound bar.

I have yet to give it a try since the latest build (which arrived within the past few days.) due to being crazy at work.

I was pushed the update last night, build 10585.1001.  I haven't noticed any issues, the side menu could load faster though, there's a bit of a delay for me after I double tap the xbox button on my controller or hit left at the home screen.

Hmm?  I thought 10586 was just pushed.

Guess not?  That's what mine says, maybe not everyone is on the newest one yet?  I can double check to make sure but that's what I saw.

*edit*

Yup, it was 10585.1001, but the update console button is live and it's grabbing another update right now, 380MB in size, give or take.  Odd it didn't update itself overnight, maybe there's a setting I have to check, or maybe it would've done it tonight instead.

It actually hasn't seemed to auotupdate for me in a bit.  Either that's going really slowly or all the builds coming down the pipe are throwing it off.

I turned the instant on to energy saving not too long after noticing, since I'd rather it wasn't doing anything overnight if I'm trying to sleep.

Well, after the 380MB update, i'm now on build 10586.1001.  I'm guessing this is final, or near final already.    One thing I've noticed performance wise, right after a bootup once you're on the home screen if you hit left to bring up the guide it can take a bit of time to come up.   This could just be natural since the system just started up and isn't quite finished loading things in the background though, same as desktop windows for example, you boot into the desktop and see it quick but it's still working in the background loading things up.

I haven't messed with anything else really, don't use many apps, I do like it though, it's way faster than the old one.  Now they just need to upgrade a few other things, like the My apps and games part, that's still using the old version and needs an update IMO.  Heck, why stop having it as an app and just make it another tab on the home screen for example?  It could be between the community and store tabs, so you can see all your installed apps and games and not have to jump into an app.

At last this latest update has fixed my MKV stuttering issue at the start of trying to play one!!! I have been moaning about this since the first release! MTU is now reported as 1480 too.

Need to find a proper change log now, but i am happy.

No doubt 10586 is final, just need to see if .1001 is as well or if we're in for a 1002 etc.

Anyone know what improvements or big fixes we get from updating the controllers firmware?

I don't know either, I've done it once only and haven't noticed anything drastic having changed.

One problem I've had so far it's that the background image I set vanishes after I turn off my console, not a full power down, and turn it on again. Even when I set a new image in the settings it doesn't show up. Only way I can fix it and get my background back is to bring up the guide and pick the restart option.

Just installed yet another update and this has fixed that issue, no idea what else has changed at this time though.

What version are you on now and how big was the newest update?

Nice, I'll run a update once I get back home and see how it runs, wonder if they've improved the opening speed of the guide now or will soon?  Right after you first start up and hit the home screen if you press left next it can take a good bit of time for the guide to come up.

The guide opening is still slow, i hope they make it snappy soon.

Another thing that annoys me is when at the guide and the TV is stilll playing in the box they reduce the volume, i wish there was an option to not do this.

    • Apple would rather delay Siri AI than open iOS to rival assistants in the EU by Pradeep Viswanathan At WWDC 2026, Apple today announced a revamped Siri AI experience for iOS and iPadOS users. However, this new Siri AI experience will not be available on iPhones and iPads in the European Union when iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 launch later this year. In a detailed press release, Apple blamed the Siri delay on the EU’s Digital Markets Act, highlighting that EU regulators did not accept its proposed solutions for bringing Siri AI to the region. Consequently, there is currently no timeline for Siri AI’s availability on iOS and iPadOS in the EU. Here is what EU users will be missing due to this delay: Siri AI, Apple’s next-generation assistant powered by Apple Intelligence A new dedicated Siri app for revisiting conversations Expanded Visual Intelligence features Integrated AI-assisted writing tools Siri mode in Camera on iOS Other system-level AI features Since the new Siri experience on watchOS 27 is dependent on an iOS 27 device, EU users will also miss out on Siri AI on watchOS 27. The most frustrating part is that even developers based in the EU will not be able to test or use the new Siri AI features for their apps on iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and watchOS 27. In its press release, Apple mentioned that making Siri AI available in the EU would require the company to give other AI assistants (like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini) broad access to private user data and the ability to control installed apps. Essentially, the EU wants competing AI systems to be able to read and send messages, make purchases, access files, and perform actions across apps. To address these concerns, Apple proposed an intermediary system called Trusted System Agent. This system would have allowed other virtual assistants to access the same features as Siri AI in a safer way. However, the European Commission rejected Apple's proposals, and it is currently unclear why. The good news is that Apple stated it will continue working with EU regulators to bring Siri AI to the region. For now, however, iPhone and iPad users in the EU will have to wait. If platform gatekeepers such as Apple and Google reserve deep operating system capabilities only for their own AI assistants, rival services such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and others will be at a major disadvantage. Modern AI assistants are no longer simple chatbots. They require access to core OS-level capabilities such as reading on-screen context, interacting with installed apps, sending messages, creating calendar events, managing files, and completing user-approved actions across the device. If only Siri on iOS or Gemini on Android can access these capabilities, competing AI services will struggle to offer the same level of convenience, even if their underlying models are better. This is exactly what the European Union's DMA is trying to address. Apple and Google should be allowed to protect user privacy and security, but they should not be permitted to use those concerns as a blanket excuse to block rival AI assistants from getting fair access to core platform features. A secure permission-based framework could allow users to choose their preferred AI assistant without giving any company unrestricted access to personal data.

    • When I was a teen, I actually believed that the government used to be always be the bad guy. However as an adult, someone who has actually seen the Law work (though not perfect). I now think everyone cries a river. In this specific case, the so called freedom has consequences to society. Anyone who has seen how child are indeed affected, and I don't mean only extreme things like getting drugs or hate crimen , but no one can deny society as a whole has gone down a rabbit hole due to exesive use of internet. Before anyone calls out that it's the parents responsibility. Yes that's true, but the reality your family/kids might be good people. There are 99% out there who are not and have been brain dead by many things on the internet.
