2004 MLB Playoff Thread

Good comeback by the Braves today, although I'm still frustrated over the offense. Marcus Giles, JD Drew, Chipper Jones...they've done NOTHING. I don't know whether it's a good thing that they are 1-1 and those guys aren't hitting yet or not. I'm glad Raffy hit that game-winning homerun but he also has a tendency to start trying for more homeruns when he does hit one.

Smoltzy is the MAN, though. 3 scoreless innings, including 1-1 at the plate (Giles couldn't bring him in from 3rd  ).

I'm going with Boston-Atlanta in the World Series. Braves win in 7. :shifty:

there's no way the red sox lose to the braves if they both go to the world series. red sox got the best lineup in the postseason and a strong pitching staff to go with it.

btw, me = hardcore red sox fan. :)

atlanta's the weakest team in the playoffs in my opinion

yeah yeah, no one expected them to do anything all year. theyve surprised everyone by getting this far. theyre getting my hopes up again, although i'm well aware of our postseason failures in the past. im just hoping they can keep proving the critics wrong. messy game yesterday, but good finish. the kind of thing that can really get a team going in the playoffs.

lets go red sox!! i knew in that bases loaded situation that vlad was gonna hit that home run. i mean its the red sox u knew if it could happen it was gonna happen to them. but that walk off hr by ortiz was awesome. couldnt ask for a better way to close out the series. on a sad side note :( i live right across from the park and due to friggen scheduling i will NEVER get a chance to open my window to see and hear the crowds during games in boston.

just curious, whats scheduling got to do with opening your window?

btw, awesome finish for the sox. they looked awesome throughout the series. david ortiz is a beast

He's probably not home when the game is being played

exactly. i would have loved having some of that playoff energy coming in off the street. where i live i get a good view of the street that runs behind the green monster and on game days/nights its always fun to watch the game on tv while listening to crowd reaction.
