Very likely. Especially after looking at the [H]ardForums (his posts are edited earlier today to resemble nothing) I'd say you're right on the money. Too bad; if this was an actual product, it would really be nice.

Why surprised?  That is where wireless networking began.

Well no, it wasn't where wireless networking as we know it began. It was where ethernet was born.

It's also where Ethernet began.

:)

They developed the ethernet protocol to overcome problems with sending data packets via sat dishes on each campus at the uni of Hawaii.

Okay..this is the latest and the most convincing info I've found regarding this possible mumbo-jumbo:

http://wiredblogs.tripod.com/cultofmac/ind...entry_id=479527

and

http://www.wired.com/news/mac/0,2125,65323...tw=wn_tophead_1

Both of them are from the same Author of Wired news.

I found it via the PearPC forums @ http://forums.pearpc.net

But yet again, that doesn't say much..not yet atleast, I'm hoping to hear more.

I found this link works despite it not being on the front page!

Hmmm...

1% CPU Usage

Window looks like it has been knocked up in Visual Basic.

1% CPU usage is possible if the emulator is just sitting there idle, or it could be a fluctuation right at the moment when the screenshot was taken.

Also, look at the time discrepency b/w the two shots - they are off by 10 minutes.

Like I said in the news post on the main page, this is why they never show the windows taskbar while the OSX desktop is loaded (and both clocks showing).

This was from their web site...

To complete the rest of the installation follow along with the Apple Installation Wizard.  Please be patient with the Apple OS installation; depending on your system it may take up to 1 or 3 hours to finish installation.

Does anyone know how long does it take a G3/G4 to install OS X (10.0+)?

I think 1 or 3 hours is a bit long to install OS X on G3/G4.

It takes 15-20 minutes to install OS X 10.2/3/4 (beta) on my iBook G3.

Then that's not even close.....

On the sidenote.... I thought you couldn't install 10.4 with G3 hardware

I know you're all hopeful that it's a real product but seriously, this is a hoax people. It's an attempt by a video serving company to test their servers. Basically, a headline worthy story for the slashdot crowd that will give them loads and loads of traffic, which is what they wanted.

Don't hold your breath is all I have to say.

The 1% CPU usage is the CPU usage by the video encoder, not the utilisation of the system.

no. the username is VideoEncoder, but the system's cpu usage is 1%.

which is, well, impossible.
