Dell UltraSharp 2005FPW 20" Widescreen LCD

Funny my Rev01 from Uk doesn't have this menu at all. The monitor is adjusting this automatically. Works very good.

Programs like PowerDVD you also have an option like "keep movie aspects" where the movie is in the original format.

Mike

Great monitor...... :woot:

what the, my stuipd revision AO2 has the "Auto Adjust" menu and button black out...

Ooh, my TFT seems to have got some light scratches somehow

?

in that shape. I don't know if they were there when I got the monitor, but I can't have caused them because all I have touched on the screen is the large amount of dust with light pressure from the corner of my cloth.

So glad another one is turning up on Monday, hopefully 3rd time lucky!

(PS - How hard would it be to repair such scratches for Dell if they wanted to refurb...They are very light and you could not notice them in normal use)

Grr :laugh::

does dell do price adjustments with coupon codes?  the monitor is about 100 less than when i ordered it with new coupon codes, i have only had it about 2 weeks.  How could i do this.

Yes, just ask for a full refund rather than replacement

How do I tell if I have a stuck pixel or dead pixel?

My pixel is grey I think and I can see it in almost any color I think, even when i'm gaming if I look closely enough I can see it.

It's most noticable on whites and some darks though.

Other then me moving my finger on it which I alerady did, are there any other fixes?

HELLO MIKE.

Please can you tell me the revision and month of your tft.

I am waiting the third tft of replacement.  the two first monitor was A01 July 2005 UK. and they had backlight in all the corners and the second had 6 pixel bad.

Have you any problem with the tft?

Hey

I have the A01 from UK made in May 05.

I wanted to switch 3 times, but every time they came with another A01, so I didn't pack it out (I asked for a A02). But I heard that UK is not shipping the A02 - Soooo....

But I am getting used to the backlight in the left lower corner, I it is actually not that much.

But I love this monitor - It is great. Only problem is now that my graphic card ATI 9800XT just burned out, so I have no picture

Just ordered the HIS X850XT card - Love it :D :woot:

    • Bluesky COO warns social media regulations could destroy competition from small startups by Paul Hill Fears that increasing government control of social media risks regulatory capture by the biggest social media firms were raised again recently. Bluesky’s chief operating officer said in an interview that social media bans for children and tighter regulations for social media firms risk creating a world where there are only a few social media platforms run by companies with the deepest pockets. Regulations on social media firms have been very lax since they appeared for mainstream users in the 2000’s. This gave Meta, Snapchat, and Google time to build up their user bases and get entrenched, with Meta being the most successful. Now that Meta has succeeded, it has been attempting regulatory capture. By pushing for more regulations of social media, Meta hopes to make it more difficult for rivals to challenge it. For its part, it doesn’t need to worry about the cost of regulation because it has a lot of money to spend, whereas startups do not. Speaking to CNBC, Rose Wang, Bluesky’s chief operating officer, said: “I support the protection and the safety of youth, the question that we have then is at what cost, because essentially what I’m scared of is in the long term, we’re headed to a world where there’s about three to five platforms, and extreme heavy regulation of those platforms, and basically the whole compliance teams of these platforms are 10 times the size of our entire team. So, basically, we’re living in a world where it’s almost impossible for smaller entrants to come in and build healthier spaces. These platforms have led to a place where the bottom line is the thing that drives what they do... so I understand why governments have to step in and regulate, because the platforms have done nothing right.” She said that while she is not against regulation, there needs to be more channels between the small to mid-sized players and regulators to help protect them. She says that big tech players, on the other hand, “who we know are circumventing regulation,” need to be regulated. Essentially, the Bluesky position is one of nuance, rather than absolutes. While Bluesky’s proposal may preserve competition in the social media space, it still doesn’t address the massive privacy implications these age verification measures introduce, such as handing over sensitive identity documents to access age-gated content.
