Update:

The Messenger 5.0 help files have been transfered to the public help.msn.com server, so this could mean that we're not far from the actual release.

Also, if you put a 5 on the end of the Mac Messenger URL, http://www.microsoft.com/mac/default.aspx?pid=msnmessenger5 gives you an unfinished page that says it was last updated on May 19... Sounds like they're getting ready, eh?

Well @fubarshibby.. they can be getting ready.... but they sayd that Messenger 5 for Mac gonna be released in June... so i think maybe it gonna be released in the first two weeks... so lets wait and see what happend...

Great according to the 2005 Keynote Microsoft will be releasing Messenger 5 in the next few..............months. Damn that company has serious problems with shipping new software versions in a reasonable time span.
