Steven
why are you stuck with going AGP? 586239615 cuz i just spend 284.00 on a new AGP Video card.. I can't replace it.. I just bought it and I don't think I have the cash to buy another video card (PCI-E) Even if I sell it I doubt I can get the same one in PCI-Express. transplant
You may have already tried this, but... 1. Turn off and unplug your computer. 2. Remove CMOS battery for about a minute or two. 3. Pop the battery back in, plug the computer back in, and hit the power button. Make sure it's off and unplugged when pulling the battery as the whole point of this is to remove all power sources from the BIOS so it resets to default parameters. So i'll try that later but I don't think thats the problem. :) 586239634 I've actually had 2 different computers (one an old ASUS CUSL-2BP and a Gigabyte GA-7NNXP) that looked dead upon booting up after a particularly nasty lightning storm here. This fixed the problem on both. It's worth a try...
Steven
Even if the battery is the problem.. I found this motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813130468 Will it work with the Latest Athlon X2 CPUs?
Darknm
if its a socket 939 and will support an athlon 64 FX55, yes, it will support a new athlon x2

That is if you want to go to PCI-E now if its possible.

saxondale.
Hey Steven, the neo 2 plat is the best motherboard you can buy (in AGP terms) so i would go with that man, then an AMD 3500+ Venice. Whats your budget?
OxygenOne
The Neo2 Platinum will work with the Athlon 64 X2, as MSI's page describes here: Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core (Manchester, 90nm, L2 Cache 2 x 512KB)Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4200+ (E4 version) OK Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4600+ (E4 version) OK Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core (Toledo, 90nm, L2 Cache 2 x 1MB) Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4400+ (E6 version) OK Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4800+ (E6 version) OK The Asus board you posted will not work with the X2 since it is a 754 board (at least according to NewEgg's Specs). I am sure you already realized this, but I wanted to clarify.

Steven
thats for the mobo and cpu right? 586239709 Mobo, CPU. (I have plenty of RAM already). I could use a couple new Hard Drives and a Plextor 16X SATA Burner... Everything else I already have as you can see in my sig.. I'd liek the CPU to be at least 3200+. I already i'm at 3.2GHz. So I know AMD has lower frequencies but I want to use the "32" as a starting point.
