why are you stuck with going AGP?

cuz i just spend 284.00 on a new AGP Video card.. I can't replace it.. I just bought it and I don't think I have the cash to buy another video card (PCI-E)

Even if I sell it I doubt I can get the same one in PCI-Express.

You may have already tried this, but...

1. Turn off and unplug your computer.

2. Remove CMOS battery for about a minute or two.

3. Pop the battery back in, plug the computer back in, and hit the power button.

Make sure it's off and unplugged when pulling the battery as the whole point of this is to remove all power sources from the BIOS so it resets to default parameters.

I didn't have time to play with the battery... So i'll try that later but I don't think thats the problem. :)

I've actually had 2 different computers (one an old ASUS CUSL-2BP and a Gigabyte GA-7NNXP) that looked dead upon booting up after a particularly nasty lightning storm here. This fixed the problem on both. It's worth a try...

Perhaps you could return it and say you made a mistake and needed the PCI-E card? That is if you want to go to PCI-E now if its possible.

Wow steven, that sucks. All i can suggest IS to go ahead and try whats already been mentioned. Also, this may seem dumb BUT it helped me and my mates, go ahead and rip apart the pc. and put it back. it may seem stupid, but it helped me MANY times and so forth....... so leemmmeee know asap aite mate

i'm gonna push this Intel system to the side and just take it apart and rebuild an AMD system with my AGP Video Card, Neopower and my Corsair RAM.

So Go ahead and "Show me the money" (parts) ;)

I MUST PLAY MY GAMES!!!!!!!!!!

America's Army Lives in me!!!!!! :D

The Neo2 Platinum will work with the Athlon 64 X2, as MSI's page describes here:

Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core (Manchester, 90nm, L2 Cache 2 x 512KB)

Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4200+ (E4 version)  OK

Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4600+ (E4 version)  OK

Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core (Toledo, 90nm, L2 Cache 2 x 1MB)

Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4400+ (E6 version)  OK

Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4800+ (E6 version)  OK

The Asus board you posted will not work with the X2 since it is a 754 board (at least according to NewEgg's Specs). I am sure you already realized this, but I wanted to clarify.

no need for dual core if you are just going to be playing games, just putting that out there

thats for the mobo and cpu right?

Mobo, CPU. (I have plenty of RAM already).

I could use a couple new Hard Drives and a Plextor 16X SATA Burner...

Everything else I already have as you can see in my sig..

I'd liek the CPU to be at least 3200+. I already i'm at 3.2GHz. So I know AMD has lower frequencies but I want to use the "32" as a starting point.

Even if the battery is the problem..

I found this motherboard:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813130468

Will it work with the Latest Athlon X2 CPUs?

This motherboard is awesome, and I believe yes it would work with the X2.

MSI K8N NEO2 PLATINUM Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce3 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard - $118.00

AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Venice Integrated into Chip FSB 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor - $367.00

Sorted for life :D

    • UK funds £60M AI labs to challenge US tech dominance with open-source models by Paul Hill The UK government has awarded £60 million to Oxford University and University College London to help keep the country in the AI race by focusing on open-source, low-hardware alternatives. This is in stark contrast to the expensive, closed-source, and high-hardware-requirement models being created in the United States and elsewhere. The money will be shared among two new academic research labs over six years to help them redesign the fundamental mathematics and architectures of AI to help the UK reduce its reliance on a handful of US tech firms. Commenting on the development, AI Minister Kanishka Narayan said: Initially, the government planned to fund just one lab with a £40 million investment, but with this update, two labs will now get access to a larger pool of funds. The labs are expected to invest in the top AI researchers at every career stage, with £2 million per lab being set aside for hiring at least ten doctoral students. The government hopes that this will grow the UK’s talent in the field of AI. The labs are also expected to work closely with the leaders in British AI research, such as the Alan Turing Institute and UKRI’s AI research hubs. This will allow the various teams to collaborate and create new solutions faster than they could alone. This development is pretty interesting for a number of reasons, chiefly that it could create a long-term challenge for US tech firms if these labs successfully scale these open-source architectures that bypass the proprietary ecosystems. It could also give British businesses and public sector organizations access to AI features without paying high licensing fees to foreign providers or needing to invest in specialized server infrastructure.
    • If I were them, I'm gonna hold out until the prices of these semiconductor parts normalize. $1,049 for a ~5 year old hardware is DoA, more so for gamers. On a deeper note, if Steam Machine is priced like this, we are soo effed up for the next gen Xbox console and PS6. With great AAA titles releasing at the end of the year, this just creates more demand...and more tears for me. Lol.
    • I suspect one reason its hard to justify subsidising is that it's not a locked down device like a traditional console is. In this climate sadly if it was a "good deal" you'd get people hoarding them for anything but gaming. The Lenovo Legion Go 2 with the Ryzen Z2 Extreme is £1300 here ($1720) for some context on how other SteamOS like devices are now priced. I got the older Z1 Extreme model for £300 with a dock, just shows how insane prices have got recently.
