It's 7:29 am Eastern Time, but not Pacific :unsure: It should be 4:29 am Pacific Time.

eek sorry, time is the one thing i cant get my head round. (hense y im late for work every day!)

i dont think it sounds too bad tho, would be funny if this was just a codename for the Beta :p

maybe i am missing something...but wouldnt this just be the name it goes under for beta? XP didnt get its final retail name until near launch, right?

longhorn was just the alpha name...

maybe i am mistaken though? :huh:

I don't know why (not like it's a super amazing logo or anything), but I have to agree.

The name would appeal to professionals more than "techies" though, as we have seen.

Beta 1, targeted at developers and IT professionals, will be available by August 3rd 2005.

Nope. This is the real thing. They just decided to name it earlier in the process this time.

Well SkyyPunk in the Windows Vista page it says:

arriving 2006

formerly Windows codename "Longhorn"...

So I guess it is Final as in it is the Final Name for the next windows

At my shop and to my customers, I'll just refer to it as Windows V (the letter not roman numeral). Sounds better and will be easier to write down on invoices.
