The REAL game starts... (Puzzle Box 1)

IF you downlod the video you can adjust the play speed in Window media player. Here is a screen cap post-192764-1168362292.jpg

I have manipulated the video and played it backward and slowed it down to see if there are any extra messages... there are none.

The green in her glasses i dont know what that it. I have no way to zoom in.

I also think anyones fears of people just entering the codes and being entered in to the draw are not needed. I have a feeling she is expecting us to cheat like that and at the end of the game there will be a winner who completed everything themselves without a doubt... however i have no idea what that is yet.

Looks like a mushroom cloud or something.

Maybe you need some photochopping to reveal a hidden image or something.

No need to. It's a cup of tea, and she's looking down into it. The wisps of "smoke" is actually steam, and the dark center is the ... uh, whatever "tea grounds" are called. :)

I think this is where the meta prize comes in as it will be won by the first person to find the answer/solution and contact her.

SuperRob: but where is the handle and isnt it meant to be the front of a watch?

MAN :( I FEEL ALL SAD AND NOOB LIKE :/

IM JUST GONA READ BEFORE I POST ANYTHING FROM NOW ON :/

OH WELL ALL I COULD SAY IS

GOOD JOB

Dont worry mate. all help is appreciated. Although please stop shouting... we can hear you just fine thanks without the caps on :)

I think i have a theory... we have solved the puzzles to soon. We need to solve them again later in the week in order to release another video. Either that or try again in the week and another video may be available.

Either that, or there are more than one answer to the questions. Trying harder (looking at the questions from a different angle) may reveal a whole different answer to the ones we supplied. This will reveal another video or something to help us.

This is all guesses but it is my thoughts on the matter...

at the end of the video for completing the first puzzles she says "we'll talk again" maybe this refers to actually talking not emailing, along with the "Hmmm. Not quite what I had in mind. Try harder - then listen closely" maybe we need to find a phone number, and listen to a message?

and i think it must be Microsoft she 'works' at, all the letters she sent out had here name and address on them.

It's Funny how neowin is ruining the vanishingpoint puzzles, the people who made these puzzles are probably mad because we are figuring them out too fast. :p People are too smart on here I got 2 done in the time it took everyone here to do all of them :D

You're joking, right? You do realize that the contest is to PROMOTE WINDOWS VISTA, right? And that it's not a contest, it's a sweepstakes, so by "ruining" the puzzles, we're just ruining our own chances? And that we don't care, because the community is the best part of the game?

Seriously, 42 took the "community" into account when designing the contest. I guarantee it.

i don't think so, i think there is still more to be found, i expect the puzzles to get harder and harder each week.

We need to connect with Loki and we need to focus on the meta squares. :alien: But how do we initiate contact with her? She obviously isn't responding too well to our e-mails.

Me too. It perpetuates the marketing for f-r-e-e. ;) THere are Loki bots working this board.

Here's what I've been thinking,

In the envelopes mailed out to participants came with a letter stating, 'You are now a decoder. There are only a few like you, but thousands more are looking for you. ...'

Could we have more then just the flash drives (containing Cipher Keys) which are most important to the game?

I can't help but think the stamps on our envelopes have some importance to the game.

post-138514-1168552856.jpg

I would assume so, since I have the same stamps in the same order. If they wanted to simply send out a mass amount of letters, any stamps would have done just fine.

someone mentioned about the "getting warmer" and "out of office" emails that maybe we had to wait until the right time... has anyone tried emailing/calling at 3:14? just an idea...

ive already posted on the last one about the stamps but i can find the stuff again

    • I can't believe Starmer is still there...his party lost so big. He's a stubborn coot, but this is largely unenforceable, so I would imagine he'll be resigning soon. A key here is for parents to buy their kids phones sans Internet access--and set up the Internet at home, where mom and day can, you know, act like parents instead expecting the government to raise their kids.
    • EA launches in-game advertising platform for brands to "connect with audiences" by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The gaming giant Electronic Arts is exploring more ways to inject real-life brands into its games. Announced today as EA Advertising, the new platform is attempting to make it easier for brands to reach out for deals with the company and put their products inside titles like EA Sports FC, Madden, NHL, Skate, or The Sims. EA revealed that its EA Sports side of the company brings in "hundreds of millions of players across console, PC, and mobile" every year. Fan engagement of these titles was also touted as being "extraordinary," with 23,000 NFL seasons worth of games being played in Madden NFL daily, while EA Sports FC sees over a billion matches a day. “Players come to EA’s games and live experiences every day to play, watch, create and connect,” said David Tinson, Chief Experiences Officer at Electronic Arts. “That gives brands a meaningful opportunity to show up in ways that add value and respect the player experience, while maintaining authenticity in the worlds our teams are building. With EA Advertising, we’re helping brands become part of those moments in ways that are relevant and built for players.” Using the new program EA Advertising, brands will be able to inject their products into games in real-time via dynamic placement. EA says partners will have access to everything from stadium signage in sports games and targeted adverts to in-game content custom-made for the brands. These are described as additions designed to "enhance, not disrupt" experiences. "In these interactive gameplay environments, brands become part of the game itself, reflecting how players engage with advertising in real-world contexts," adds the company "Brands can activate across live environments, tailoring placements to meet campaign objectives, and update campaigns with ongoing optimization informed by aggregated engagement insights." Current real-world brand partnerships EA has built into its games include Visa (EA Sports FC and College Football), Lowe's (EA Sports FC, Madden NFL, and College Football), Red Bull (EA SPORTS FC), Xfinity and Peacock (EA SPORTS FC), and Mountain Dew’s (College Football).

    • UK to ban under-16s from social media following a six-week trial with teenagers by Paul Hill Credit: Pexels A few months ago, Neowin reported that the UK was trialing a social media ban with 300 teenagers for six weeks, that testing has come to an end, and Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced that the country will ban under-16s from social media. Starmer said that this technology is making children unhappy and making it easier for bullies to harass and abuse them. He continued to talk about the addictive nature of social media, saying that it uses an infinite scroll designed to lock users in for hours. He said this interferes with children doing their homework, reading, playing with friends outside, and going to bed on time. Tackling the idea that nothing can be done about social media, Starmer said: The government’s action won’t stop at social media either, the PM said. It plans to take action on gaming services and livestreaming platforms. Right now, he said, strangers can contact any child unchecked. He said this wouldn’t happen in real life, and the government is going to stop it from happening online, too. The Labour government has overseen the introduction of the Online Safety Act, a big change to the internet which includes age verification on adult websites. This has led to a fair bit of backlash, but overall, the government is pushing ahead with these changes.
