Bioshock General Discussion ( Xbox 360 )

Got it this morning. Completed it on easy by this evening. So it lasted me around 12 hours but I harvested all but 2 Little Sisters (one to see what happened, one by mistake) and still have to find the remaining Power to the People stations, then I have to kill Sander Cohen and take a picture of his body for the achievement, then reload and find his personal quarters for that achievement, then go about acquiring every tonic for that achievement, and then I have to go through the game again and rescue every LS.

I am VERY disappointed that you can't stay in Rapture after you get all that Adam from Atlas at the end. It wouldn't be so bad if any enemies besides the Big Daddies respawned if you reload from the previous chapter...so much for very few unscripted events...I would love to freely roam Rapture as a Big Daddy and own everyone.

i've just been wandering around arcadia looking for diaries and other goodies and i constantly see these weird rune like things. i've seen them in 3 places now, and i'm sure there are more... anyone know what they are? i've uploaded a picture to imageshack in case you want to see.

if you want to find some then go to the "rolling hills" and go towards the research labs. in the room that links the rolling hills to the metro and research labs look just to the right of the entrance to the labs and under a bush you'll see them (you can actually go up close to these ones). you can also see there are some up by the wall on a platform to the left of the metro entrance, but i can't work out how to get up there...

you can actually go around as a big daddy... just reload a save before you go to kill fontaine and then when you're supposed to go up the elevator you can just leave and go off as a big daddy. its really useful for the research achievements if you haven't got them already... all enemies ignore you so you can walk right up to them and take photos... i've been doing it for about an hour now to find all the diaries, hence the reason my screenshot has distortion around the edge of the screen...

I must be the slowest Bioshock player in the history of the game so far, because I only now, probably at least a good 7 hours into the game, just got to the Submarine Area. FTR though I take my sweet time, and I will actually load an area on my own without dying just to do it a different way, so I am sight seeing so to speak.

With that said, literally just coming up on the docked submarine, approximately how far through the game percentage wise am I?

You mean the one with Atlas' family? Probably about 10% then, if that.

Am i the only one worried about the Secu ROM copy control software??

See Note at the bottom of steam system requirements: 'Note: Contains SecuROM copy control software. Installations limited to five PCs per license'

After a little research i find its made by Sony DADC... The nice people who put rootkits on audio CD's if i remember correctly.

I really dislike the idea of it installing stuff behind my back, anyone noticed anything odd?

This is the 360 discussion thread, so none of us have to worry about that here. You may want to ask your question in the Games for Windows section. They have a thread discussing that very issue.

If that was directed at me, I know, but I would prefer to either 1) have the option of staying in Rapture or 2) Have the enemies re-spawn when you back to another area.

Hehe, same here. I've put in probably 3-4 total hours (have to play in spurts due to work) and I finally made it to Fontaine's Fishery. This is probably why I lose interest in FPS games, it takes me so long to get anywhere! Fortunately, BioShock keeps the story going and sprouts up new twists, so I want to keep playing.

You're kidding right? Smuggler's Hideout is like the 4th level, and no way at all 10% of the game

So what would you say, 25%? I do not want to look at any walkthroughs at all.

Glad to know I am not the only one. That is one of my issues as well, I usually only get to play in 1-2 hour increments because of work. Going to try and play a solid 5 hours today, if not more.

Larry you're not the only one taking their sweet ass time

When I got the game I tried it on medium, then easy and then I decided easy was too easy so I reverted back to medium  Every time I changed difficulty I restarted the game. Right now I've got the camera and I have to take one more picture of a spider splicer.

The voice acting is amazing :D

Isn't it? This game is so well done. It's games like these that show video games can be works of art.

yay! i got the tonic colelctor achievement after rescuing every little sister... i was under the impression that you wouldn't be able to afford 1 or 2 tonics if you rescued them all but evidently not. i didn't get the final health and eve upgrades though so thats probably the problem. 5 more achievements to go... i really don't want to go hunting for the diaries i'm missing though :(

It is the first game in a few months that has made me leave work early to get home and play it

Damn, I feel so excited and envious.

System Shock 1 and 2 are both in my top 5 all-time games. And as far as I have read Bioshock might be just the best shooter ever )if not the best game ever)

WHY THE XBOX360 HAVE TO BE THIS DAMN EXPENSIVE IN MEXICO!!!!???

NEED SOME HELP - CHEMICAL WEAPON LOCATION

Okay, I am in Arcadia, and the vending machines are offering me ammo for a Chemical Thrower, but I currently do not have a Chemical Thrower.

So I am just curious does anyone know where I am supposed to get it in Arcade if anyone knows.

I can't remember exactly when you get it, but I noticed that you start getting ammo for most of the more advanced weapons just before you find them. I started picking up crossbow bolts a good while before finding the crossbow, same with the chemical thrower ammo, couldn't wait to find that one.

you get the chemical/gel weapon (from what i remember) when you speak to the woman and have to do 3 seperate quests for water, honey and something else I cant remember at the moment, all this is in Arcadia.

its water, enzyme samples (basically honey) and chlorophyll solution.

i think the chemical thrower is in her room and by that time you should have plenty of ammo for it.

    • Microsoft adds reusable skills and finance data connectors to Copilot in Excel by Karthik Mudaliar Microsoft is giving Copilot in Excel a collection of new features aimed squarely at finance teams. The update introduces reusable instructions for common tasks, connections to services such as FactSet and Morningstar, and a better way to review what Copilot intends to do before it starts changing a workbook. The most interesting addition is 'Skills' finally coming to Copilot in Excel. Skills let companies teach Copilot how to handle a recurring process, so employees do not need to write the same detailed prompt every month. Users can create skills that can specify the steps Copilot should follow, along with the required layout, formulas, and formatting. Microsoft says users can create their own skills by saving a SKILL.md file in OneDrive. The file is written using Markdown and tells Copilot when and how to perform the task. Once it is available, a user can select the skill in the Copilot pane or mention it in a prompt using the @ symbol. There is also a library of prebuilt finance skills for customers who do not want to create their own. Microsoft plans to let developers distribute additional skills through the Microsoft Marketplace and the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, with LSEG, Ramp, Rogo, samaya.ai, Velixo, and Vena among the first partners involved. The company says that it is also expanding the external data that Copilot can access from inside Excel. New connectors are being added for CB Insights, Daloopa, FactSet, Morningstar, PitchBook, and S&P Global data through technology developed by Kensho. There is a catch, however. Accessing these services may require a separate subscription from the relevant data provider, so a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence will not necessarily unlock all of them. FactSet is also only available in preview for now, with general availability planned for July. Microsoft is also trying to make Copilot’s workbook edits easier to inspect. Users can switch to a planning mode that shows which sheets, cell ranges, formulas, and assumptions Copilot intends to work with before it begins making changes. Once the work is complete, the Show Changes pane can distinguish edits made by Copilot from those made by human collaborators. The update continues Microsoft’s push to turn Excel Copilot from a chatbot into an agent that can carry out longer tasks. The company previously added an Agent Mode capable of planning and completing multi-step Excel work. Microsoft also recently acquired financial AI startup Fintool, another indication that finance is becoming a key target for its Excel AI strategy. Prebuilt skills, personalization, workbook rules, external connectors, planning mode, and Copilot attribution in Show Changes are generally available to Microsoft 365 Copilot customers using Excel on the web, Windows, and macOS. Custom skills are initially available to Microsoft 365 Insiders on Windows and Mac starting today. Microsoft plans to make them generally available across Windows, Mac, and the web over the next month. Partner-built skills are expected during the third quarter of the year. Availability may still differ depending on region and licensing.
    • Exactly. They serve different (although related) purposes.
    • Do not enter the code under any circumstances, or you will be sorry. It's definitely and most likely a hacking attempt.  That happened to me a couple of years ago, and I kept receiving those prompts for months. It's simply the attacker trying to get you tired of the constant requests, so you just give up and enter the code, so they can log in to your account.
