I think that the writers will do well with this. I have faith.

Hopefully. Personally I also want 'em to bring Leslie Winkle

Hey guys, do you think that Leonard and Penny will eventually get back together ?

I'm pretty sure if the show runs for years, they'll hookup, split up, then finally end up together. It'll be like Friends all over again ;)

Big Bang Theory' star Kaley Cuoco on temporary medical leave following weekend fall

The Big Bang Theory has been rendered Penny-less in the wake of Kaley Cuoco?s weekend horseback riding mishap.

A rep for Cuoco confirms that the actress suffered a broken leg and is currently recuperating in a Los Angeles-area hospital. ?She?s scheduled to make a full recovery,? says the spokesperson.

A Big Bang rep, meanwhile, says Cuoco will be written out of the episode that is taping tomorrow night. The show will then take a previously-scheduled week-long hiatus.

Noooo Penny! Got shes so hot it hurts to think about her.

I've learned that the stars of The Big Bang Theory are getting fat new paychecks just as the hit CBS comedy is getting ready for its big move to Thursdays next week. After almost 3 months of negotiations with series producer Warner Bros TV, Big Bang leads Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, and Jim Parsons have agreed to a major salary hike that would bring the trio's salaries to $200,000 an episode for the upcoming fourth season, up from about $60,000 last season. The salaries will rise to $250,000 in Season 5, then $300,000 in Season 6 and 350,000 in Season 7. Additionally, they will each receive .25 point of the series' lucrative backend and will be paid $1+ million as an advance against it now and another $1 million in Season 7. That effectively adds another $50,000 to their per-episode paycheck over the life of the deal.

That isn't such a ungodly amount if you consider what others are getting paid/have been paid. Friends stars got 1 million/episode for the last few seasons, and Seinfeld was offered even more for a 10th season! I believe Hugh Laurie in House makes at least half a million per episode. BBT has been pulling in really good ratings. So, the stars should get their cut. After all, for most actors, a smash hit like BBT is a once in a lifetime thing.

If the show makes ungodly amounts of money than they should get their cut. Better than all that money going to some executive.

It's better if money is re-invested in shows that don't pull very high ratings to avoid them being cancelled. That would be a noble thing to do, but hey, I heard chivalry is dead so I won't hold my breath.

Most shows that don't pull very high ratings deserve to be cancelled. The networks exist to make money, not to be chivalrous. Hell, once these shows peak and start going downhill, it's only a matter of time anyway. So if you think the networks are going to sacrifice advertising dollars to keep a failing (ratings-wise) show on the air, you're dreaming.

    • Threads scales past half a billion users, brings deeper community and feed controls by Fiza Ali Meta has announced Threads crossing a major milestone of 500 million monthly active users. And, at the heart of this growth sits something simple: communities. From books to basketball, parenting to music, Threads says its rise has been powered by people clustering around shared interests and, in turn, giving the platform its identity. In response, the platform is expanding its Communities feature beyond beta and introducing a set of new tools designed to make participation easier and more engaging. A redesigned Communities Hub will now appear in the main navigation menu, allowing users to jump between groups without leaving their feed. Each community will also receive a distinct Community Icon, giving them clearer visual identity and making them easier to recognise across the platform. Then there’s Community Progress, which is a kind of live gauge showing how close a topic is to becoming a full-fledged community, alongside guidance on how users can contribute to its development. In addition, Meta is also expanding its Community Champions programme, recognising more users who actively contribute to community engagement. And then things go more local; Local Communities is already available in 100 countries, including North America, South America, Asia, and Europe but are now rolling out with native-language tags starting in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. The platform is also expanding Live Chats to more communities in the coming weeks, adding features such as co-hosting and the ability to quote moments directly into users’ feeds. Beyond communities, Meta is tightening the loop between users and their feeds. Earlier this year came "Dear Algo," a feature that lets people tell Threads what they want more or less of. Now it’s being paired with a new tool, "Your Algo." It allows people to adjust how frequently certain topics appear, with options lasting one, three, or seven days. Meta says these preferences remain private and can be managed alongside “Dear Algo” in a unified settings hub. The rollout begins in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Finally, the company says these changes are part of an ongoing effort to refine Threads based on user feedback and that further updates will continue as the platform evolves.
