It's better if money is re-invested in shows that don't pull very high ratings to avoid them being cancelled. That would be a noble thing to do, but hey, I heard chivalry is dead so I won't hold my breath.

No way! Why dump money on shows that don't pull high ratings? If they were good they'd get good ratings... I say get rid of them to make room for new ideas

I wouldn't say all low rating shows are bad, but it's generally true. However there are shows like Arrested Development that never really got advertised well enough and got cancelled, despite being one of the funniest shows ever :(

I personally failed to see the funny in that show... :p

'Big Bang' star 'to miss more episodes'

Kaley Cuoco will reportedly miss further episodes of The Big Bang Theory while she recuperates from a broken leg.

The actress, who plays Penny in the sitcom, was injured last weekend while riding a horse. It was initially suggested that the 24-year-old would only miss one episode as a result of the accident.

Entertainment Weekly reports that her absence is likely to be extended, as Cuoco remains hospitalised in Los Angeles. An insider added that the star would now miss "a few" episodes.

It is not known how the character will be written out for this period.

A Warner Bros spokesman declined to comment.

That sucks.. :(

She's so hot. I guess it will be interesting to see how they do without her character.

Anyone know when the new series is coming back to c4/e4? And if the season 3 box set in bluray will be followed by a 1-3 bluray box set?

Not sure, but I do know that the Season 3 on Blu-Ray release...this week? Or last week.

Most shows that don't pull very high ratings deserve to be cancelled. The networks exist to make money, not to be chivalrous. Hell, once these shows peak and start going downhill, it's only a matter of time anyway. So if you think the networks are going to sacrifice advertising dollars to keep a failing (ratings-wise) show on the air, you're dreaming.

With it being such a cut-throat area, a lot of shows aren't given a chance to blossom before they are canned. Remember Jericho's 20 tons of nuts petition? Not every show would pull ratings of BBT or House, but it doesn't mean it doesn't have a strong following that is prepared to support it consistently.

Doesnt the first episode air in the US tonight or tomorrow? I can imagine in torrent land not long after that.

he means on E4, I would say give it a few weeks E4 isn't like Sky where they air it 2 or 3 days later

Eliza Dushku, one of Joss Whedon's muse is set to guest-star on the popular CBS sitcom, Big Bang Theory.

"Dushku will guest-star in at least one episode as an FBI agent assigned to conduct a background check on Wolowitz"

This will be the first time Eliza Dushku will be back on TV after FOX axed her sci-fi series called "Dollhouse" after only 2 seasons, despite Whedonverse fans' noble attempt to save the show.

The latest season of Big Bang Theory premieres September 23, 2010.
