torrentthief Share Posted November 26, 2009 is it me or does firefox 3.6 beta 4 get only 91/100? 3.5 final got 93/100, why is it getting lower? :( Opera 10.10 gets 100/100 btw.
lamminium Share Posted November 26, 2009 I can confirm that Webkit-based browsers also get 100/100 in this test such as Maxthon 3 (still in alpha :p).

Elliott Share Posted November 26, 2009 It's still better than IE8.... 12/100 !!! As far as rendering engines go, Trident (IE) is a joke.

Eric Veteran Share Posted November 26, 2009 First, way to necro a 6-month old thread. :) Second, how reliable is an ACID test if the same browser gets different results not only for different users but also the same browser on the same machine? :) I've gotten anywhere from 50 - 96 out of 100 on Firefox 3.5. Yusuf M. Veteran Share Posted November 26, 2009 I didn't know Chrome, Opera, and Safari achieved 100/100 on the Acid3 test. All that's left is Firefox and Internet Explorer.
The_Decryptor Veteran Share Posted November 26, 2009 First, way to necro a 6-month old thread. :)Second, how reliable is an ACID test if the same browser gets different results not only for different users but also the same browser on the same machine? :) I've gotten anywhere from 50 - 96 out of 100 on Firefox 3.5. The score's very consistent, if it's run "properly" (that is, run the test so the browser can cache it all, then reload the test) Firefox will vary by a point or so sometimes, because every so often it hits a deep bug that causes a test to fail. But it shouldn't be varying by 40 points. Edit: All that's really left in Firefox is a fuller implementation of SMIL, and an SVG font implementation. Unfortunately the Acid3 test only tests if the font is loaded, and not if it's rendered properly, so Safari's lame SVG font implementation still gets a full passing mark. Shaun N. Share Posted November 26, 2009 Chrome 3.0.195.33 gets 100/
Neoauld Share Posted November 26, 2009 Just switched to opera, its getting 100%
The_Decryptor Veteran Share Posted November 26, 2009 It's well understood that Safari, Opera and Chrome get 100/100 on the test, it's been that way for over a year.
thealexweb Share Posted November 26, 2009 Operw does get 100/100 yet it still fails the test because it fails the performance section. Ergo its just to slow to pass. Safari passes completely.

Kirkburn Share Posted November 27, 2009 Getting different scores on individual PCs suggests issues with those PCs. On first run it could have cache issues perhaps, but second time around, it should always be the same. Anyway, read up on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acid3
Evolution Share Posted November 27, 2009 Does anyone know when webkit is going to get 100/100 while rendering correctly? Each time there's a white X behind a purple, and red box, while getting 100/100.
The_Decryptor Veteran Share Posted November 27, 2009 That means it's not loading a font via @font-face, which is strange since WebKit has supported @font-face for a couple of years now.

The_Decryptor Veteran Share Posted November 27, 2009 I just realised I haven't checked the nightlies score for a while (since they first landed the brand spanking new parser) The only thing that's left is SVG fonts, which should be coming with 3.7 (I hope they're better than what Safari can do, but that's not that hard)
ObiWanToby Share Posted November 28, 2009 I do not think it is important at all. Neowin works fine in IE Opera and Firefox. Who cares.
Bryan000 Share Posted November 29, 2009 Must just be you. I get 94 in both beta 3 and beta 4.My 3.5 gets the expected 93. If you're using 3.6 Beta 4 or newer you should be getting 94. If not possibly an extension, add-on, greasemonkey script, etc., is interfering with it. Try opening Firefox in Safe Mode
Quillz Share Posted November 29, 2009 If you're using 3.6 Beta 4 or newer you should be getting 94. If not possibly an extension, add-on, greasemonkey script, etc., is interfering with it. Try opening Firefox in Safe Mode I'm getting "only" 92 in 3.6 Beta 4, and I have only the Adblock Plus extension installed.
The_Wizard Share Posted November 29, 2009 I got the same as Quillz, 92/100 using Firefox 3.6b4 with AdBlock.
