[Official] Fallout 3 - DLC for 360/PC released!

I need some help.

down my own stupidity I decided to speed things up by cheating. At first I only added extra caps to buy meds but after a while I boosted my skills up. I ended up having all skills on 100 even thought I was level 4. The problem is, when I level up it asks me to use up points but I have maxed out. So I'm stuck on the screen. My second option was to level up my char to 30 but again that backfired as the game doesnt like it when you cheat, it crashes alot. But it ran ok, but then I made another mistake. Decided to spawn all the top weapons. Problem is now my only savegame wont even load without crashing to desktop.

So heres my question, can anyone upload their savegame up to the point where you have to head over to Rivet city, after you fix the radio station signal?

I would really appreciate this, since the thought of doing it all again does no appeal to me.

I am aware that cheaters never prosper. So this time around there wont be any cheating from me. Ironic thing is, just as I really started to enjoy the game by not cheating, the previous cheats I did corrupted my savegame.

doh

Construction set?

Id throw my save on here where I just made it to rivet city. but i cant find the folder with the saved games. What should it be labeled and where? ive checked documents and settings/ my documents / and the fallout 3 folder lol.

I currently run the game at Ultra Settings which is a surprise to me. I figured it would be somewhat demanding. The game itself is great and it certainly reminds me of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

I am not really huge on the whole FPS / RPG combination, never been a big fan of the whole dialog tree and learning so much about so many different people and the whole idea of side quests, etc., but I am tolerating it all very well on this game, so that says something for the game right there, as more often than not I pass on these type of games. I never got into the Fable series, never played Mass Effect, etc., so I provide those games as an example that I really am much more of an FPS / Action Shooter player than anything else. I have actually often said more often than not I could care less about story, I just want it to be fun to play.

So with that all said, I started playing the game this past weekend. It is to much. What I mean is I really think I am going to hold off on playing it until early 09, as there are just to many games out soon I want to play, and just not enough time to play this with including just a few of them. And this is without a doubt the type of game that I least I do not want to also be juggling playing other games at the same time as this one, I want all undivided attention to it.

I mean I am 4 hours in, and I feel like I have not got much of anything done at all in the game itself. LOL

I have just been walking around Megaton, think I talked to every single person literally, and I on my way to the Radio Station as that is the current mission. I found the Super Mart (whatever they call it), and that is about all I have done. Just finished getting everything from the Super Mart and fighting the raiders in it.

So I have two questions if I do keep playing.

1) Is there anywhere in Megaton I can sell items? If not is there anywhere to sell by the Radio Station, close to Megaton? Etc.. One thing I do need to do is if I keep playing I need to unload some of the items I have for some caps and just to take some much needed weight off.

2) Nuking an entire tow.

Although I have now decided I am probably going to just go to the radio station, but I did meet the guy in the suit in Megaton at the Saloon. He gave me the side quest to blow the whole town of Megaton up. I actually saved my game, planted the device to blow the bomb up, then realized it was a long ass trip to meet him where we were supposed to detonate the bomb to destroy Megaton. I came across some new place called Liberty something where people were in the suits that are on the cover. Did anyone do this? Like actually blow the town up? What are the ramifications?

So yeah, I really think I may hold off playing the game until there are no games to play, but maybe not. I am really into seeing what happens.

Left trigger to sell to any of the merchants :)

 Not sure how I missed it, but I definitely missed it. Thanks so much. Seriously. I mean I have been to Moira twice now, and had no clue why I could not sell anything to her when she was offering stuff to me.

Never played Mass Effect? :o Man, I bought ME last week and I've been playing it non stop. I'm not sure why I waited this long to play this gem.

Anyway, you've convinced me to try out Fallout 3. If I hate it, I'm gonna hunt you down :p haha. But first, I must finish Mass Effect.

Yeah I didn't clue in for a bit either :p

Guys can anybody help me out. I am trying to find Lucy's brother who is supposed to be with the Brotherhood. I went to the three locales at night but they weren't at any of them. Any help?

longest quest ever man. You actually have to go the station with the ghouls, theres a sewer entrance on the ground, very easy to miss. then you make ur way through a huge subway system till u find them all.

Oh, and i did let loose the bomb on megaton, its worth it if you do it, but you also lose some valuable resources as well. But the penthouse suite you get is great.

It's the family and if you go to the underground station and chat to the ghouls about them they will tell you where they are. Beware though the place is trapped along the way.

I didn't realize Harold was in Fallout 3. Nice to see he made all three games. But how the hell did he cross the US? :s

So are you guys saying I should go after the family later then?

I went after the family before i even went to GNR. So ya, you should be good to go after them. Its not them you need to worry about, its getting to them lol.

Ya, this game has its rough spots. Im still trying to find the Brotherhoods location so i can learn heavy armor wearing. Anyone know where they are, like should i head west from andol or something?

Go for them immediately, if you do it correctly you get the ability to get 25hp from blood packs, a schematic and a warm fuzzy feeling that you did the right thing.

No killing is involved just a lot of avoiding of traps.

Oh thats good, the way you guys were talking I thought it was very long and very hard, tonns of killing and stuff. I will go for it now then, since I want to do all sidequests before finishing.

One thing thats bothering me with this game is the map, its not as open as you are lead to beleive, you can only get certain places using certain routes, i wanted to avoid going underground but it wont let me cause i cant walk directly cause its all blocked off :-(

Im trying toget to Rivet city but i cant!

Yea figuring the first time going to Rivet City is hard, once you have done it, its easy as pie.

You don't need to go underground to get to rivet city.

that just for the city part, GNR and the museum and such.

you may want to walka round jefferson memorial though, or you'll have to take out a lot of super mutants.

    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • I have disabled it, but the app is still taking space. I have a Mac and it is only possible to disable Ai on that, but I think that bit does get rid of the AI components after a while. What we are told is that we agree to all this when we use the devices as it is in the end user agreements, their software, they can do what they like. I doubt that any bill will happen in the U.S, the government there are in league with big tech firms. The E.U maybe, they seem to have some guts when it comes to tech companies. The U.K is not in the E.U, but some things still affect us. Our government is as gutless when it comes to tech companies as the U.s government.
