So many people installed it and no word on performance yet. I have it here ready to be installed but I'm not sure if its worth the trouble upgrading from 7057. :(

Trouble? Just update it. I don`t get all the drama that people make when installing the OS with a non-fresh install... I would like someone to point me a huge bug when updating instead of fresh installing. Come on!

Why? My computer is years old and runs better with Windows 7. What makes 64 bit so good, when you have no use for more than 2gb of memory?

I see. But I mean... It`s a beta anyway, not something that should stick to your computer for good. Just update it. If it gives you any trouble (I doubt it), then just revert back installation.

You of course realize there is no difference. Each contains all SKU's. Solar just made it possible to use Professional as Ultimate. People who use a unmodifed Ultimate won't get anything different.

tinker between 7057 and 7068, many differences to make you do an Upgrade or Clean install, i don't think so :D

also people looking for x64 bit version will have to wait till later today/tonight :D

Only the X86 version so far, but the leaker (Solor) says he's working on the x64 as we speak.

I installed Windows 7 on a old machine AMD 64 3000+, Gigabyte k8vm800m, 100GB HDD, Runs fine on 1GB of memory but 512 alright and 256 like a doggy, Nvidia FX5500 128bit 256MB, Built-in sound. Upgrading it to 2GB so it will be ok for 1-2 years as a budget machine for my girl.

I agree. I used to have problems with x86 running some heavy code, like video editing software. Under x64 they`re generally running much better.

I use software that does not run in 64-bit, and parts of it that I use will never be 64-bit. Sad, I know. But as a result 32-bit will be in use for a long time for me. I'm pretty sure a lot of other people are in similar situations.

According to email I just got from Win7Vista.com an x64 Ultimate has finished uploading and is now available in VIP section over there. Hopefuly it will leak outside VIP just fast as x86 did earlier today/yesterday. :)

Statement isn't wrong anyone with 4gb or higher will want x64, below 4gb will want x86
