Is there anything you guys specifically wantto see in game? I'll take screeniea and videos for ya.

Also, does anyone know where I can host large videos? Some ofthese vids at half res from fraps are 1.6gb. Or if someone can tell me how to downsize I will.

Just show as much as you can. And not sure about size, but HD is Vimeo.

Alright, so I know a big thing with most people is character customization. Well, Aion has NAILED it. Check out the depth you can go to with customizing your character. In the last pic, someone made a character named 'Zelda' and it even looks like her.

Wow, this looks really good... I'm almost to the point of pre-ordering. I'll have to think about it a bit more.

I'm going to get some screenshots put together of one of my characters in flight. You get to fly at level 10.

Any specifics of the game you'd like to see? I only have about 4 more hours left until I'm done with this beta. Gotta work the overnight shift. :(

There isn't much of a grind. I made it to level 10 in about 3 1/2 hours solo.

I think the combat is the bst part. You actually have to fight. A creature can be easy, or hard. Depending on how you fight it. If you spam one button the whole time, you could very well lose. However if you utilize the chains they give you, then you can make easy work of the creature.

The combat (in my opinion) is fun and interesting. Of course we can't say what it's like at end game yet seeing as this beta event is limited to level 10, but I still think it's fun. The chain skill system works nicely. The skills for each class look unique and all of the classes perform differently, yet everything I've read of the Korean/chinese versions is that the game is pretty well balanced.

With a chain skill, you only have to slot the initiating skill of the chain on your action bar, once you use that skill it changes to the next skill in the chain and so on. Which is really nice so you don't have to 8 different action bars.

I also think the combat responsiveness is pretty darn good too. In the starter area with literally hundreds to thousands of players in the area there was little to no lag. There was some minor rubber banding from time to time...but it's still a beta, they're using these weekends to test their servers and localization more than anything else.

Decision made.

I've pre-ordered. Heck, if I find out I don't like it through the beta process, it's only $50 down the drain. I've paid more for crappy 360 games that I only played once.

How soon after pre-ordering did you all receive your codes? It would be cool to get in a day on this current beta cycle.

Well if you find out you don't like the game through the betas you can always cancel your pre-order. Most places shouldn't charge you until the game ships I think. You should get the code immediately or very soon after in your email, it depends where you pre-ordered it from. I've heard people who ordered from amazon not getting a beta code but I don't know if that problem was resolved or not.

Sounds like a neat little game, not something I'd waste a single dollar on but hopefully there's a trial at some point. People always seem so overly-generous with new MMOs and when you finally try them, they turn out to be rubbish.

Well to be fair the game has already been out for a year in korea and china. So it's not new in that sense. They're "westernizing" it for us(EU/NA) however. Changing the quests to give more exp compared to those versions and other things I can't remember at the moment.

Not sure how Amazon will work (I purchased through them), but GameStop's site said the order can't be canceled after the beta code is sent out. We'll see.

Just read this on amazon:

-Qualifying customers will be emailed a code to access the beta starting 3 days before each beta event. Those who complete their purchase less than five full days before the beta event should expect a two to three day delay in getting their code and there is a chance they will not receive the code in time to access the beta.

So I don't know if you'll be able to get one for this weekend or not. Here's what the rest of the beta event looks like, date/times subject to change:

Closed Beta Event #3 - July 2 - July 6

* Focus: Asmodian levels 1-20

Closed Beta Event #4 - July 17 - July 20

* Focus: Elyos and Asmodian levels 1-25

Closed Beta Event #5 - July 31 - August 3

* Focus: TBD

Closed Beta Event #6 - August 14 - August 17

My install is sitting at 13gb atm. That's kinda big...but it's nothing compared to AoC's 30gb requirement.

What types of MMORPGS are you into?

What else would anyone like to see?

Here are a few in flight images. Flying is very easy to control. You raise altitude with 'R' and lower altitude with 'F'(rise/fall).

You have limited flying time. I'm sure with upgraded wings that will probably change.

Indeed AoC got rave reviews from testers. WAR was a massive failure at end game. I'd with Sethos, I'll wait till a month or two down the line. See how things go then.

I've played WoW, AoC, LOTRO, and WAR... I liked them all, but only WoW has kept me coming back. However, even WoW is getting stale now... I haven't logged in in a few days and I don't think I will again...

As far as what else I'd like to see: basically whatever you find interesting, really. I've already been convinced though :laugh:

    • I wonder how many are laid off for cost savings, and this being blamed on AI to make it sound less scary and bad, for a more positive "modern, with the times" spin for investors? Because Oracle is down 14% the past year. We're looking at a company struggling here. If AI would actually be working out so well for them that they can do massive layoffs, surely this would've been reflected the past year in their stock value?
    • AI is the beginning, wait until real robots replace more jobs, specifically jobs that require physical work.
    • AI is indeed eliminating jobs, and Oracle just proved it by Hamid Ganji There’s no question that AI has become the hottest trend in workplaces, and every company is trying to adopt AI-driven solutions across its operations. While some industry leaders repeatedly say AI won’t lead to massive layoffs, recent data suggest that AI is actually one of the main reasons some companies are reducing their workforce. According to Oracle’s annual regulatory filing, the company has laid off about 21,000 employees, or 13% of its workforce, amid increasing AI adoption. “The adoption and deployment of AI technologies across our operations have resulted, and may continue to result, in reductions to our workforce,” Oracle said in the filing. The software giant now has approximately 141,000 full-time employees, a notable decrease from 162,000 during the same period last year. Restructuring expenses, including severance payments, cost Oracle $1.84 billion in fiscal 2026. Additionally, around 49,000 Oracle employees were based in the U.S., while approximately 92,000 were employed internationally. Like many other companies, Oracle has fully embraced AI and concentrated much of its efforts on the technology. The company is also a key participant in the United States’ $500 billion Stargate Project, which aims to build multiple AI data centers across the country. When it comes to AI adoption and its impact on the workforce, opinions remain divided. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, whose company has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the AI boom, recently said in an interview that attributing job cuts to AI is a “lazy” narrative. “The narrative that connects AI to job loss, for many of the CEOs that are doing it – it is just too lazy. AI has just arrived, how is it possible they're already losing jobs?” Huang said. However, statistics and recent reports tell a different story. According to Layoffs.fyi, 196 tech companies have laid off about 119,800 employees so far this year. Reducing staff and replacing roles with AI agents could become one of the most significant trends in the job market in the years ahead.
