Grats, trag3dy! (Y)

Have you done any of the group quests yet? Very fun. You actually need a real group to get them done too, no half-assed crap. Love the fact though that there's really an abundance of healers in the game. Makes grouping a lot less painful. :)

Also, from the looks of it, it appears as though things don't really stack in the game. DoTs, HoTs, and so forth. I see a few complaining about it, but I've got to say I actually enjoy that aspect a lot. It sort of gives incentive to want to diversify your group, as opposed to stacking classes and such. I honestly feel they've done pretty damn good with the game so far.

God, being stuck at work suuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks!! :(

Getting beat at some of the early quests. That's what I get for being a relative MMO newbie.

What quests you having problems with? Maybe we can help ya out.

I am only level 12 at the moment, I slowed down the last 2 days, because of other life things.

I was hoping to do most of this game by myself.....are those group quest easy for like higher levels? lol

You might be able to solo them at 30+ but I really have no idea, and that level it would probably be pointless to do unless you're helping someone. And yeah, I did the Black Claw village or whatever it was once for a bit. But I had to go back and help my friend lvl their cleric up a bit and they juuussstttt caught up with me so we're finally progressing some.

Still all in all it's fine. I'm really looking forward to getting into pvp.

4 years ago. On their first MMO.

You'd think NCSoft would, well you know, have this **** down by now. :)

There is really nothing you can do to truly prevent this type of thing. You can't predict which server the players are going to decide is going to be the "popular" one and when it comes to a sudden influx of millions of connections even the best network hardware can momentarily choke. It's pretty much like a DDOS in terms of scale, only intended.

I can safely say I doubt you will ever see a popular MMO have a flawless release when it comes to this sort of thing. Even the best stress testing isn't a true simulation of the first day of a popular MMO.

Yea, see that is always been my biggest issue with MMOs. I love the idea of collecting, doing quests, leveling, but I am not one for PVP or multiplayer. I love Single Player games, a story and all that. And so far Aion has been pretty good to me.

The thing is though...it's not like this is a new release of Aion. The game has been live for over a year now, and has millions of subscriptions in Asia. I know people said to shut up about WoW in comparison...and I agree. Comparing a fledgling MMO launch ~5 years ago, from a company new to the genre is drastically different than the re-launch of an existing live MMO from a company with numerous MMO launches under their belt. ;)

They just announced that they're making it so private stores expire after 30 minutes so people who are abusing them to stay logged in 24/7 to avoid the queue won't be able to do that anymore. They'll just have to resort to using timed macros now. ;)

That change coupled with a new server should hopefully help reduce the queue a lot, I hope anyways.

http://na.aiononline.com/board/notices/vie...D=114&page=

We'll see how it works out tomorrow and Saturday.

To be honest I was using the Private Stores to stay logged in, but I am glad they did it. As long as it does help the queues.

I did too, some. Though really, from like 10:30 pm until 1 the next day the queue is non existent. That will probably change tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday however.

If this was like chinese aion (pay as you go, etc if you pay for 1 month it expires after 1 month of gameplay, not 1 month of time) i would buy this in an instant.

I did not know that, I always thought that was just one of my fantasy's, being able to buy a month of gametime, and use it as you will, is perfect. But of course they will never do that over here in NA.

They also don't have to buy the game, as well though. Paying by the hour turns out to be more expensive than $15 a month I believe.

when i was 14 i was doing lvl 16 quests, if you asmo i know for shure you can get away with the higher lvl quests

but then again i am a templar ( atm im 16 on Azphel )

Just hit Level 14, basically did all side quests and everything, but now all my quests level 15 or higher, ARG! lol

I hate grinding.

My wife loves Aion, she's a level 17 Sorcerer right now ... first video game i've gotten her to play!

Hah, my girlfriend and I actually switched roles for the first time. She went Gladiator and is loving it. Me, I love playing my Cleric and Sorcerer. They're mad fun. I don't think I've ever had so much fun kiting either (with my Sorcerer anyway).

I just love the fact that all the classes are all quite decent, except Ranger which from what I hear gets a lot better after the early 20's.

Gotta love the early Gladiator DP attack. :)

I don't have that dp attack yet, that was awesome!

Really? It's the one you get at level 10 if I'm not mistaken. You get a quest from your trainer or maybe the guy at the teleporter in the city, and you head to the next town, turn it in, and bam: DP skill. What class are you though?

Asmo Warrior Gladiator, and I hope that is not true lol, cause then huh, I have a DP skill, but I am pretty sure it didn't look as awesome as that one lol

Maybe you did it but didn't equip it on your bar? Often it's quite easy to miss spells. I did that too..went 2 or 3 levels without equipping my newly bought skills, all the while I'm thinking... "shouldn't I have more skills?"

Use this map to see all the quest locations:

http://www.aionarmory.com/location.aspx?id=6

You'll probably need to head to Gribade lake and Traders Berth next, and then go to Caldern Hill. Don't go to the Black Claw (elite area, requires a group) area until you're 17 because there is some quests you can't get until then. And most importantly, don't run past mobs when you're going to and from quest locations!!! I can't emphasize this enough! Killing things to and from and you'll level much quicker, and not only that but you'll have more money and loot. Most people I see who complain about quests just b-line it to their quest target location and then b-line it back to turn it in. I'm not saying you do this but that's how most people operate.

    • Less powerful than a PS5 at twice the price! I wonder if they use that for marketing? Totally DoA.

    • How does it compare to the "SeeStar S30 Pro" and the "Vespera PRO 2"?
    • Indeed. And note that those units are MUCH cheaper than this new Steam Machine...ahem.
