I have a Question about the game. Is it actually fun? - Are you guys having fun playing this game or are you just playing until the next reward like next skill unlock, next level reached, new gear. Is the game fun yet?

I am curious because I like the look of the game in the Videos I've seen and if it's fun and not just a grindfest (I really enjoy PVP for example) then I'll totally buy it.

Yeah.

Mage > Sorc/Sm

Priest > Cleric/chanter

Warrior > Gladiator/Templar

Scout > Ranger/assassin

I've had fun playing it. It doesn't feel like a chore to play and level like WoW always did. Maybe that's just because the game is still new??? I don't know. But when you can play for 4 or 4 horus and have it only feel like 1 then I think that's a sign you're having fun.

Personally I'm loving the game. I am working on an Asmo Templar right now. The quests aren't hard to level up, it's just right now, there are hundreds of people in any given area doing quests so it's going slower than it will at say, 9am. Last beta I was up first thing in the morning playing, and with less of a crowd, I could get to level 10 in 2-3 hours. Now it's been 4 hours and I've only hit level 8 cause everyones fighting for the quests.

If you aren't that confident you can try to get a beta key before the next test which I believe is 2 weeks from today.

I'm starting to think you're a complete tool. If you just didn't like the game, you wouldn't even be in the thread, which leads me to believe that you're another WoW fanatic trying to bash any and all games that stand a chance at competing vs WoW.

This isn't a thread for crybabies. This is a thread for people who are interested in playing the game. If you aren't up to giving the game more than an hour, then just do us all a favor and go recycle your sperm.

Yuh huh and your an irate fanboy who won't see a bad word against his game right? You know I was the same as you in WAR. I had the fanboi blinders on and you know what? I hit cap. I hit cap and the game was f-ing awful. It died on it's arse and is now getting dug a shallow grave by EA. Excuse me while I don't go diving in without knowing how deep the pool is first. I'm terri apprehensive about new MMOs after playing AoC this year too. I have nothing against you but you seem far to happy to gnaw on my vocal cords if first impressions get my eight ball reading: "Outlook not so good."

Talking of shallow. How linear is this game? Most of the quests so far consist of walk to this town, kill these mobs around this town. Walk to next town. I'm only level 7 but I've got an itch to explore. An itch I can't scratch. I understand it's on the Crytek engine but last time I played Far Cry I remember wandering about for miles.

I played the beta last night and I can say a few things..

I understand the issue with the "lag compo", you can't "queue" spells, there's no effect to a ready spell other than two color tones of the same abilitiy (unless I was REALLY tired last night and didn't notice anything else).

Game seems to be okay overall but it's resemblance to Lineage 2 is just horrible to those that don't like Lineage 2, as if NCrap took everything they "learned" from L2 and put it in the Aion box, that's just sad to see, and it's the little things like the Middle Click rotating the camera 180 degrees, hell I know it's nothing but it gives me memories of L2.

Learning new abilities seems too generic and not very fun, you can stock up on books and learn them as you go, again little things but they bother me.

I like the map system where you can locate an enemy by clicking his name in a quest log or something, but I wish the icons & text would be clearer, or it would be removed all togethere because I didn't even read 1 quest in the game, just the end of them, I can't imagine that starting quests are interesting to read when you're being asked to bring 5 something and kill 3 someone.

I dug up your own words, Scraggles: "It needs very little tuning".

And I have to strongly disagree, they have to tune this up like a mother..... otherwise it has no place in the market with games like WoW or.. WoW.. lol

It looks exactly like a game in a closed beta should look like, but they're limiting the time for some unknown stupid reasons, as if they're being cheap on paying for the servers or something.

Well the communties are different in Asia and EU/NA, we care about punctuations and spelling and story and whatever.

They care about whacking stuff with clubs and making gold (just being stupid as usual and assuming, you know..).

Look at how WoW is popular, a lot of it is due to Warcraft's story, I like to think so anyway..

The more I play Aion the more I see Lineage 2 in it, it's like playing Lineage 2 with different textures.

Anyway... At the game's current state, it won't be a success here (EU/NA).

Ignoring the major stereotyping on your part...

Then you should be completely satisfied, IMO. Personally, I was quite intrigued. At first, I was just skipping through quest text as I am so used to doing that because of WoW (only on subsequent play-throughs, of course), but when I stopped and started paying attention I felt involved. I think they did a great job with the story.

I played L2 early on, but it was extremely grindy and the Chinese farmers where aggressive (trying to get a good farm spot was hard when they defended it with high level characters). Despite that there is some interest in Asian style games, and if the game is far less hard core than L2 I think it can do much better than L2. Currently L2 has 8 servers, there where a few more early on, but not that many.

I forgot about this, this is my MASSIVE beef with the game. Seriously. They couldn't add a decal or animation to show someone has a effect on them? I put a dot on them and there is sweet FA difference in the character model. I have to check the frame to make sure it hit them! Now before someone comes and says:

"Well what about mass PvP you noob!". Auto scale the spell effects. If there is too many people in an area. Then the spell effects get reduced to decrease the FPS drop. Problem solved.

Well Aion is the most popular MMO in Asia right now, they must be doing something right Inclined.

As I've said before Western MMOs are much more diffrent to Asian. Asian MMOs are MUCH less forgiving. You know how people struggle with easy raid bosses in WoW? They wouldn't get to 50 in this game. The art styling is a world apart. For example spell effects are ridiculously excessive at higher levels. While WoW/EQ/WAR are more on the practical scale.

What I'm trying to say is just because a game is doing well in Asia doesn't mean it will dominate over here. That's not me being a "WOW ***" it's just a common truth of the MMO genre.

ended up playing a while last night ( did all the quests up to lvl 10 ) my only gripe is its easy to loose your target, aka click it off. i a couple of time i accidentially clicked the target off and my guy just stood there doing nothing, cause i didnt notice it.

also there are some quest items ( specifically the bones in the graveyard, and packs of rice in the farm ) that dont want to activate and let you collect it, somebody walked up while i was on a mob to the same items, and looted it, i was like WTF, lol

Scraggles - i like the game, as far as its chance, that i don know about, it will attract people tired of WoW thats for shure, but it will be nowhere near enough to topple the juggernaut that is WoW, if anything the only game it will kill is Lineage 2, and AoC

I'm not sure what the hell happened. 3 o'clock hit, I created a Male Scout and started playing. I think I ended up getting to level 9 or so. It didn't take forever, but it took a bit of time. I wake up this morning to try to log on to that character again, and he is not there...

Wtf?!

if anything the only game it will kill is Lineage 2

Quite. It's simply not my cup of tea. It's to Asian for me (the styling, the irritating high pitched voices, the silly spell effects and 'clashes' when people fight - It makes me think of FF and I despise that franchise). I've got to level 10 and I still can't get in to it. The whole GCD based on casting animations is retarded and feels like a leap back to the 90's when MMOs first began coming mainstream. I could get to 50 but I'm not going to force my self to. I'm sure some people will enjoy it though. :)

Edit: Ah I forgot the whole lock-you-to-the-spot-till-your-casting-animation-has-finished-even-on-instants needs to go. Like yesterday.

Sounds like I might save my time and bandwidth and stay clear of this.

    • Microsoft admits one of the most crucial Outlook features is currently broken by Sayan Sen Microsoft is making some decent progress when it comes to Windows 11. Recently we have confirmed reports of some rather useful improvements landing in the next version of the OS, 26H2, wherein GPU driver TDR crashes may finally be fixed, plus the company is also allowing users to disable web content on the Search. On the Outlook front though things have not been so rosy. Last month in May we reported several problems affecting basic functionalities on the app. These included a problem where documents would open blank or corrupt themselves. Following that, Quick Steps, a very useful feature, would no longer work correctly, and finally, Microsoft acknowledged a problem wherein images would fail to load up properly inside the email. Microsoft had resolved those bugs later and almost exactly a month after we reported on them, the company has now admitted a new similarly basic issue, this time on Macs. Users recently started noticing that Outlook would no longer display email threads properly as the original message itself was not displayed. An affected user Tsoumpas, C (ngmb) nicely described the problem in a forum post they made on Microsoft's site. They wrote: "Description of the issue: After updating Outlook for Mac [Version 16.110 (26061317)] on 18/6/2026, replying to any email no longer includes the original message in the reply window. Prior to the update, replies correctly contained the original email text below my response. Expected behavior: The original message should be included in the reply, as in previous Outlook versions and according to the configured reply settings. Actual behavior: The reply window contains only a blank composition area (or only my response), with none of the original email text included." Obviously this must be a highly frustrating for users as noted by several in that thread. The post, at the time of writing, has also been upvoted by more than 40 users indicating that is a fairly widespread bug. Thankfully Microsoft seems to have acknowledged the problem right around that time as it opened a new issue on its official website. In the support article, the company recommends switching to Outlook for Mac from the legacy app, where the problem appears to be happening.
