Halo Reach Thread

That Halo Reach 360 controller looks pretty sweet. I like the silver, and the design is quite nice as well. The console itself doesn't really do it for me, though. I just prefer the black system with none of that weird text across the front. If they had a black console instead of the silver one, I would be awfully tempted to buy the package for $400 USD (system, Halo Reach, 2 controllers).

I miss the Halo 3 green though. :p

My second X360 before it died and I returned it.

I sadly traded that in for the new slim. Couldn't pass up the deal and 250GB drive, just too awesome. The Reach one almost hits the spot, but honestly by the time it came out the amazing deals would have disappeared. Not to mention what is the point of getting the limited edition if the console comes with the game, too?

So pumped for this game.

Pre-ordered legendary a month or so back, the wait is killing me :D. Always been a big Halo fan, but this game looks to be the greatest of them all, even above the epic experience that was CE.

I'll be brutally honest here. I'm not sold on Halo: Reach. I did play the Beta. I do intend on buying the game. After being an owner of all the Halo's...Reach (yes I know it's a lot different) just didn't feel so accurate. I felt lag almost a bad as Gears of War 2 during launch and the game modes, I'm not sold on them. I was thinking about getting the higher edition that's not Standard but I'm not sure about that.

Does anyone feel this way about the game? I'm looking for some hours of dedication insight.

I mean no disrespect to the Halo fans, but I really wouldn't worry too much if you're expecting it to be drastically different to the previous Halo games. Bungie has kept the gameplay and mechanics roughly the same throughout the franchise, and I don't think they'll take a step backwards with netcode or anything that they have already laid the groundwork for this generation.

true, I don't think there will be any groundbreaking new gameplay changes. They mentioned that the netcode is improved a lot in comicon panel.

The music was a little underwhelming in that trailer but the footage was epic! Cannot wait for this game

seriously! It looks epic and beautiful! (even if you take off a few points for any PP that they did on it)

You missed that thing?!

I can't wait to replace mine with a Slim once I finally have more disposable income.

It looks like a childs toy IMO.

I was talking about the musical score? I agree that the graphics are epic and beautiful just that the musical score for the trailer didn't fit the pace of the action going on in the trailer.

Looks alright, shame I never got to test the Beta to make up my mind.

Will there be a demo of sorts? Else I'll have to skip it.

Nah theres never a demo for halos but I honestly urge you to at least rent the game when it comes out because

you will not regret its pretty intesnse and the new forge is going to give me at least 4 years worth if not more!

We unfortunately have no places to rent games from around here - I rely heavily on demos.

And every Halo game is minor upgrade of the last when it comes to the 'feel' of playing the game ( Not talking features ) and it's the feel

of the gameplay that matters to me. So I'd like to see if they hit the sweet spot or not, I refuse to shell out ?30-40 to crash test it.

So hopefully I'll find a way to give it a try before I buy.

Well if you do, understand that It feels different from past Halo's (talking from the beta) however still keeps the same core gameplay

Armour Abilities change the game a ton and give so much more strategy as if you play with a team you get the most out of them working

together with seperate AA's =)

It really is quite fun and its got much more gameplay changes than Halo 3 Had

To put it short, its not just a graphical upgrade

But thats just my Point of View =D

    • I'm not unblocking my camera for this crapola. Sorry, Google.
    • Ummmm that is what is it supposed to do. Just turn if off in settings if you do not want it analyzing your open tabs. Chrome does the same thing with Gemini. Sarfari will do the samething after Apple's AI and even more so with the release of their 27 versions that is now powered by Googles LLM/ML models. Understanding why it is doing it and how it can help you vs jumping to some conspiracy theroy is a much better approach. As long as it can be turned off, all is good. Yes the default should be off but the a lot of people would never discover these features.
    • Just another reason (aside from many others) not to use Edge. Firefox 153.0b5 DEx64 has a similar feature added recently in prior builds that I will turn off at some point when I get around to it. It's the new "Something looks suspicious" page that pops up here and there. It cleverly hides itself between web pages that I've actually visited; as a result, you know, of selecting a web page and telling the browser where to go. The interesting thing is that it does not produce these warnings from pages that I, as the only intelligent user of the browser in my system, have ever directed the browser to open! What seems to be happening is that the browser looks at all the goofy ad links on a web page I do actually open and selects one that "looks suspicious" and then creates the "something looks suspicious" web page, which is neatly inserted, as mentioned, between web pages my RB ("real brain") has directed the browser to load in a session. The thing is, I usually look at links I am considering to follow before I ask the browser to load them, and in cases I have noticed where the link does indeed look suspicious, most of the time I will choose to not follow the link at all. Doesn't everyone do this or something similar? I am picky about what I voluntarily load... (I don't like links that start off fine, with a site designaiton that seems normal enough but then is followed by indecipherable alphanumeric strings many, many lines long, etc. I tend to reject those because they look suspicious. They may not be, but I don't care... I'll stay with Firefox, of course, if for no other reason than they usually let you turn off the junk you don't like. And because it isn't Edge... But at some point Microsoft will come to realize that putting your bookmarks on the left side is a Good Thing for a lot of people, just as Microsoft discovered when it had the bright idea of nailing the Windows taskbar to the bottom of the screen, when for decades Microsoft browsers had left that placement up to the user. They have finally reversed the obscenity of that decision. Finally.
    • Google was using the old CATPCHAs data to train their LLMs. What is the say they won't use this camera data of users to train their LLM? these companies need some strict regulations!
