Halo Reach Thread

Thanks, was just wondering. The other teams always seemed to be able to play perfectly.

Nah, they have the same issues. The more you play it the more it smooths out from what I have experienced. The biggest problem with the gametype is that the Spartan's loadouts are overpowered and it is far too easy to just not fight at all and constantly lock the generators until time runs out.

I feel terrible that I saved ODST all this time to only play the beta for one day. The frugal person in me is screaming at the colossal waste of not selling the game earlier. While I had a terrific time with the game, I just wish the beta could have started a week or two later.

The Beta is now officially over.

We mentioned it yesterday, but it bears repeating. The Beta is officially over, but our test team is leaving the servers up and running so they can run some horrible, inhumane experiments on live subjects. If you're still in the mix, you should anticipate some pain and suffering.

Stuff like:

Unpredictable gameplay behavior!

Long and unsuccessful Matchmaking times!

Unceremonious disconnects from the Beta!

Nice to hear :) I plan on getting a few final games in this evening as its the first time i've been able to play in the last two weeks.

Reach Launches September 14th.

That's going to be a hard wait. My group went back to playing Halo 3 now that the Reach beta is over, and it feels noticeably inferior. I want my sprint back :).

Definitely a day one purchase. This beta just confirmed it for my group and I.

No space in multiplayer :(

BUT

But there is a ‘but’: “However, since Reach still has four player co-op through the campaign, you’ll be able to play four players. Each person will have their own sabre, and you’ll be dog fighting in outer space against the AI.”

Reach Firefight is integrated into Matchmaking now and will be customizable like any other Halo XBL mode. You can customize waves, enemies, time limits and even the Skulls themselves.

Thank goodness. That was definitely a bit ridiculous that you couldn't search for games in ODST.

The only thing I care about is the custom game server browser that was promised for H3 and never made it. They could also do some good by ditching forge and putting in a full fledged map editor. Sadly neither are likely to happen. Matchmaking gives bungie a hard-on and a real map-editor would cancel any need for paid DLC.

SP should be decent enough though. Love the halo universe, just hate multiplayer execution.

New update on B.net seems to have revealed two additional armor abilities that have yet to be revealed, tons of loadout options, bottomless clips for weapons and the ability to make all guns instant kills.

Instagib Halo anyone?

Well to be fair, the bottomless clips and instant kills were already part of the custom game settings on Halo 3 :p

I know there were damage increases and infinite ammunition settings but bottomless clips mean the clip never ends (no reloading, essentially) while instant kill is regardless of weapon or health (the only instant kills in Halo 3 are SWAT headshots). I'm pretty sure neither of those were in Halo 3.
