Yeah.. I agree.. so many stars not being present.. it will diminish the tournament somewhat..

For those of you thinking France might have played their second string players.. here's the starting lineup:

France has no chance until they get rid of Domenech..

I'm seriously doubting we will make the group stage. So depressing. :(

Nani is out. He's injured and he has been replaced by Ruben Amorim (Benfica - defender).

Fábio Coentrão probably will play as a winger.

Did a World Cup Sweepstake today at work, and I picked Germany (lucky dip). What are their chances of winning?

Outside at best.. i'll be very surprised if they get past the quarter finals..

I believe the last 4 will be.. England, Spain, Portugal and Brazil/Argentina..

Dutch are also very good but their defence is weak..

I voted England to win, more because I would like them to win than because they could do it. As for top goal scorer I honestly don't know, I don't watch football (with the exception of the World Cup) so I just went with Torres.

If England can't do it then I'd like Switzerland to win for obvious reasons, but I think their chances are slim.

Really been into soccer of all forms over the past 2 years, thanks to my roommates at college, but I am still rather clueless to MANY, MANY things. So, I come to you guys for assistance on the bracket I filled out a few days back. I don't care to win it, but at least be slightly competitive. Mainly I am asking because I am unaware of major injuries, setbacks etc.

USA to lose all thier group matches :laugh:

:( USA won't lose all their group matches! Algeria and Slovenia will hopefully both be wins. England, well, time will tell...VERY SOON!
