Here is my first attempt at a proper picture with my new camera.

post-234086-0-89048600-1309999535.jpg

Camera is a Fuji Finepix S2800HD

Settings were set to auto mode... so no skills there then :)

Cropped a little in photoshop

Any tips would be welcome.

I had the S1000fd. It was probably the older version of yours but I loved that camera. It was my first step before spending more on a DSLR. I got to practice alot with the manual settings on it and had some great shots. I still have it but haven't used it in months since I now have my DLSR's.

Well, it had been a while since I had shot anything interesting...

Caterpillar

A caterpillar I captured, shot using a 50mm f/2.8 Macro and a flash. If anyone knows what particular species this caterpillar belongs to I'd appreciate it if you let me know. Zapopan, M?xico.

Same as above without the flash, did some minor processing to bing out the colors on the train.
