Elon Musk says Tesla will sell merch for Dogecoin

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has announced that the vehicle maker will sell merchandise for Dogecoin, a popular meme cryptocurrency. It’s won’t be the first time that Tesla has dabbled with cryptocurrencies as it sold Tesla cars for Bitcoin for a little while before putting an end to the practice.

The eccentric CEO has been positive about Dogecoin in the past, though, most of the tweets seemed quite jokey. With the latest tweet, Musk isn’t contemplating selling merch for Dogecoin, he said that the firm “will” accept the crypto. It’s unclear right now which of the goods will be purchasable with Dogecoin.

Tesla recently added two new items to its online shop including the official Tesla Cyberwhistle, which is made from medical-grade stainless steel, and the $1,900 Cyberquad for Kids. There are a whole host of other items on the firm’s shop emblazoned with the Tesla logo for collectors to swoon over too.

Not for the first time, Elon Musk’s tweet has sent the price over Dogecoin up on the back of his recent announcement. This isn’t too unusual given the fact that Tesla is likely the biggest firm in the world to accept the meme coin.
