Just hours before launch, official images of the new Surface Studio, Laptop and Pro leak

It’s Surface day today! Just hours from now, Microsoft will take to the stage in New York to announce new Surface devices at what has become its annual fall Surface event. There were murmurs of new black colored Surface Laptop and Surface Pro devices, with Microsoft even seemingly confirming it, albeit accidentally. In addition to the updated colors, the devices, along with the Surface Studio, are expected to receive minor updates in the form of refreshed internals, such as the inclusion of the new eighth-gen quad-core Intel chips, an upgrade from the dual-core seventh-gen chips currently present in the Laptop and the Pro.

However, just hours before the event, an image of the new Surface devices has leaked, all but confirming the new shade. Walking Cat, renowned for finding references to internal projects, has found what looks to be a marketing image of the new Surface devices in black. These devices include the Studio, Laptop, and Pro.

As the image suggests, it looks like all three devices will be offered in the new black color. The Surface Pen too might receive the dark color treatment, and guessing from the image, might be updated. However, it’s difficult to confirm with just this image. It is unlikely that the devices will include a USB Type-C port.

As with all recent Microsoft events, we expect to hear about much more than just the Surface devices. The company likes to talk about how these devices, coupled with the firm’s software and services, enhance productivity. There might even be a few surprises.

Microsoft isn’t live streaming the event. However, we will cover everything that comes out of the stables of the Redmond giant, so stay tuned.
