Microsoft rolls out Twitch Beta app to all Xbox Insiders on Xbox One

The Twitch app for the PlayStation 4 received a major update earlier this year which introduced an improved content discoverability and a redesigned user interface. Now, Xbox Insiders are in for a similar treat as the redesigned Twitch app is now available on Xbox One.

Twitch Beta offers an upgraded front end for Xbox One with a focus on performance stability to improve viewing experience. The upgrade also adds support for live video previews which allows searching for live streams while browsing as well as improved support for past broadcasts which includes the ability to view chat on offline videos.

If you are an Xbox Insider and would like to participate in the beta program, open the Xbox Insider Hub, then head over to Insider content > Apps > Twitch Beta and choose "Join."

Keep in mind to let the registration complete the process. You will then be redirected to the Store page where you will be able to download and install the Twitch Beta app. Alternatively, you can also choose the "Show in store" button on the page after the registration process wraps up.

It is, perhaps, worth noting that the redesigned Twitch for Xbox One comes four years after Microsoft updated the app so users could live stream gameplay matches.
