Microsoft updates OneDrive for Business website with new Simple Controls and more

Microsoft has updated the web experience for OneDrive for Business users, adding in features such as Simple Controls for faster and better access to files and more.

Just a few weeks ago, Microsoft boosted up the storage space for OneDrive for Business user to 1TB. Today, the company announced that the website for the business-based file storage service has a new look and some new features.

In a blog post, Microsoft said that the OneDrive for Business site now includes Simple Controls, which can be seen above the personal work folder list in the screenshot above. The blog states:

With one click or touch, you can create new Office documents, upload files, initiate sync to take your files offline, share your files internally and externally, and more. Simple Controls were designed with quick access in mind. You will also see Simple Controls for all team site document libraries.

The website also has a new Site Folders link so that users who follow other SharePoint Online sites can now go directly to those files on one page. The Search bar on the site has been moved from the upper right to the upper left and users can now simply type in the name of a document to not only find it but to share it immediately with someone else directly from the search results.

Finally, the About Me profile page has been redesigned so that it highlights documents and people that are linked with the person viewing that page. The profile picture has also been moved on the page and Microsoft said soon that image will appear across all Office 365 applications as part of its global navigation bar. The update will be rolled out over the next few weeks.
