Google's big press event that will feature our first real look at a pair of new Pixel smartphones as well as a few new notebooks, a Wi-Fi router and a VR headset is just one week away. While those devices have made for numerous headlines, there's one more important device that just got its first image leak today.

VentureBeat's Evan Blass has given us our first look of the rumored 4K Chromecast device, supposedly named the Chromecast Ultra, that should be shown at Google's hardware event on October 4. The new Chromecast Ultra features the new Google "G" branding, both on the hardware and with the software in the new fimrware version 1.21 that the Ultra is said to ship with.

Blass also noted that the Chromecast Ultra will retail for $69 and is meant to compliment the HD Chromecast dongle that currently retails for $35, giving Chromecast shoppers options. We'll have all the details come October 4 when the device is announced by Google directly.
