Official Dropbox app is coming to Windows Phone

Microsoft and Dropbox just announced their partnership related to Office integration and online storage, but there’s also another bit of news that the two companies let slip: an official Dropbox client will be making its way to Windows Phone.

Those of you using Microsoft’s mobile OS know that an official client has been sorely lacking for the longest of times. And while third party alternatives such as CloudSix helped us along the way, some real love from Dropbox will make everyone happier.

There’s also hope that a revamped and updated Windows 8 app will also grace our screens though that hasn’t been confirmed just yet. An official Dropbox app has been available in the Windows Store for almost 2 years now and while it is a bit bare bones it does get the job done.

The Windows Phone app will become available “in the coming months” but we’ll let you know as soon as a fixed date gets announced.
