Second-gen Pixel Buds now available in more markets, new colors coming next month

Google unveiled the second-generation Pixel Buds at its October 2019 Made by Google event. The device was the company’s first truly wireless earbuds and was slated to launch in spring 2020. The earbuds finally launched in April for an asking price of $179. However, it was made available only in the ‘Clearly White’ color, with the company saying that more colors would be offered later. The earbuds were also slated to launch in more markets later.

That last part happens today, as the company has announced that the second-generation Pixel Buds are now available in more countries. These countries include Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Singapore, Spain, and the UK. The search giant adds that it will offer the device with more colors next month. The color options currently vary by region, with the Google UK Store offering only the ‘Clearly White’ and ‘Almost Black’ options for that country.

As for the device, the Mountain View giant touts improvements to the audio quality, a special mic for enhanced calls, increased range, and more. It also brings a hands-free Google Assistant experience and easier pairing for use with other Android smartphones. You can head to the Google Store to check the available colors in your region.

Samsung is reportedly readying the Galaxy Buds Live that sports active noise cancellation for an asking price of $150. It will be interesting how those hold up against Google’s offering.
