The Surface Pro 7 Plus with the Type Cover

The Surface Pro 7+ is the latest Surface to receive the April 2022 firmware update. Unfortunately, there is nothing exciting in this release, and it contains nothing but under-the-hood stability improvements.

Important: Unlike Windows updates, you cannot uninstall Surface firmware updates. Therefore, we recommend checking a list of known issues and additional notes before installing a new version.

  • The update improves Surface Dock 2 reliability

The April 2022 firmware update is available for all Surface Pro 7+ configurations with Windows 10 20H2 or newer (October 2020 Update). According to the official documentation, Microsoft plans to support the Surface Pro 7+ until January 15, 2025.
