June is the month of game reveals and announcements by many publishers, both big and small. Since 2020, Ubisoft has been one of the biggest game-development companies that utilize this time to promote its upcoming games and ongoing live service ventures. All this usually comes wrapped in the company's Ubisoft Forward game showcases. However, it looks like 2025 will be the first year it will skip out on hosting its summer presentation.
While Ubisoft will have a presence in a couple of other showcases this month, the gaming giant has confirmed that it won't have its own dedicated presentation this time around.
"We are always eager to connect with our players and showcase our games," a Ubisoft representative had said speaking to Game File's Stephen Totilo. "We are continuing to explore opportunities to share updates, and we look forward to providing more information at a later date."
Instead, Ubisoft will appear with its games on IGN Live, which is happening across June 7 and 8, as well as the PC Gaming Show on June 8. A Gamescom appearance has also been confirmed, though at what scale is unconfirmed. There are also rumors circulating of a big Ubisoft presence being planned for the Xbox Games Showcase this Sunday, June 8, with major announcements reportedly happening surrounding Game Pass.
As for why Ubisoft is skipping hosting its own event this summer, it may be due to the recent delays and cancelations of major projects, just as the company is going through some harsh financial times due to its new releases not meeting sales expectations.
All is not lost for Ubisoft fans though. Games like the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, the original Splinter Cell's remake, the next Assassin's Creed, and Far Cry entries (as well as their own remakes) and other projects are still in development at the company, which may get full reveals this month as part of other showcases.
