A week has gone by since Epic Games Store began its holiday sale and daily giveaways, and it's only halfway done with the latter promotion. Replacing Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is a copy of Vampyr, offering you 24 hours to claim the title.
Coming in as a third-person action RPG, Vampyr puts you into the shoes of a newly-turned vampire during the Spanish flu, where you have the choice of being a blood thirsty monster or a more helpful supernatural force. It is possible to finish the game without killing innocents, but leveling up to get more powers will be an issue using this method.
Here's the setting you will be entering, as described in the store page:
London, 1918. You are newly-turned Vampyr Dr. Jonathan Reid. As a doctor, you must find a cure to save the city’s flu-ravaged citizens. As a Vampyr, you are cursed to feed on those you vowed to heal. Will you embrace the monster within? Your actions will save or doom London.
When not on sale Vampyr costs $39.99 to purchase. Here are the minimum requirements:

Vampyr will keep its place in the freebie slot until 11AM ET tomorrow, December 24, with another game set to take its place, which should be a title mentioned in the recent leaked list. Don't forget the holiday sale and its $10 Epic Coupon offers are ongoing as well.
