That depends on your style of play, all of the factions have benefits, in an ideal world you'd want to be rank 2 or 3 with all of them, do you use supers or grenades a lot etc...

(Although I'm still kicking myself for not buying the weekend vendor titan chestpiece, 2 weeks in a row...)

Yes I use those the most I believe. Both my classes are pretty much maxed, I figured I could assault on crucible and defend on strikes.

Okay thanks for explaining it. I seemed to have went to the Dead Orbits fraction because I didn't know what I was doing, lol. What would be the best for a Titan?

Depends on what armor and what attributes you want with that armor.  For my Warlock, I went for Intellect and Discipline.

I just want to be able to take alot of hits without dying so quickly and be able to defend others when doing strikes.

Discipline - Decreases cool down of grenades

Intellect - Decreases super power cool down

Strength - Decreases cool down of melee ability

If you want to take more hits, look at your special power attributes.  You can adjust them to get more defense/armor.

Should I leave my fraction cloak on the whole time I play? Someone said only leave it on when I do strikes / missions and then put on my regular one when I do crucible.

Reason I ask is because I still have yet earned any purple gear and I get destroyed on level 22 missions when I'm a level 25.

A maxed up lvl 20 blue weapon should get up to about 240 "damage", which should be at least enough to deal with lvl 22 missions. If it has a decent impact, all the better.

I don't know if using a faction cloak in crucible does anything in any way. If I'm not mistaken crucible points will always count towards crucible, while vanguard points can be redirected to any faction (then again I'm not a big fan of crucible so I haven't really tested this).

In any case just focus on whatever weapon you want to buy and try to get all points and marks counting towards there, else it'll take you weeks.

When I wanted to hit rank 3 in a faction, I left the banner on the whole time. With it on, any rep you gain in the game will go towards that faction. Since I do a mix of Strikes and Crucible matches, I was able to gear up pretty quickly.

Okay, I just hit crucible rank 2, so I was able to get some purple gear. Just waiting to get Dead Orbit rank 2 now.

Awesome! I don't think there is really a point in going past rank 3 with any faction right now, so I'm leveling up Dead Orbit before I rank up with Crucible, which will be my last faction I need to hit rank 3 with. I've been mixing the gear and weapons from each faction to fit my play style. I've focused on gear that lowers the cool downs on my super move and grenade, while increasing my auto rifle ammo and reload speeds. Good luck!

So after seeing the Mythoclast a few weeks back (before I was even at level 20), I've wanted it. Earlier this week I finally got it! It was my first  hard mode Atheon try too! It's an insanely fun weapon, though not particularly useful. I find myself switching back to my Ice Breaker/Epilogue combo when I need to get serious.

So apparently there is a cap on how much money you can have at one time.  I'm at 25,000 glimmer and can't collect any more rewards, :-(

When that happens, I just go buy Ammo Synthesis packs. You could also store the rewards in the vault.

Well I mean I can collect items, but the cryptarch had some glimmer rewards for finding things and I couldn't collect them.  I never thought about buying ammo packs though, I tried doing the daily heroic on hard yesterday by myself and I got the boss about halfway dead but ran out of ammo ducking and hiding to kill all of the lesser mobs that spawned, so in a flurry of melee attacks I managed to kill about a dozen or so before I got killed for lack of ammo.

You can now try 'Destiny' for free and carry progress into the full game

Let's say that you aren't among the 3.5 million daily Destiny players, and you want to try the action out for yourself (for free) to see if its worth your investment. Well, developer Bungie wants to make your dreams come true. You can now download a sample version of the game on either generation of hardware and give it a go without dropping $60. Perhaps best of all, any progress made will transfer over to the full game -- something that members of the alpha and beta tests weren't afforded (but would have appreciated thank you very much). So really, there shouldn't be much stopping you from at least giving the former Halo-house's new jam a go by this point. Except maybe your data cap, that is: Sony says the PlayStation 4 trial weighs in at 40GB.

i love destiny but these stupid error codes are getting very annoying. i can't complete bounties without being kicked. 95% of these errors have nothing to do with my internet

i can play other games fine without getting kicked & you go onto bungies website to ask for help & get told off by a immature kid

I salvage any gear I had for characters I wasnt going to play.  Good way to get shards/energy for upgrades.  I get like 3 shards from salvaging armor.

Okay, thanks!

As of right now, I am getting DESTROYED in Iron Banner. Played for an hour and never got above .60 K/D ratio. I'm a level 27 and pretty stacked in gear as well.

Nice feature for The Dark Below

It really makes me laugh when people refer to Destiny as a "grind fest", its the same as any other game.

I want all the unlocks against a class in Battlefield 4, I have to play for hours as that class trying to get the XP etc to get there or complete tasks to unlock it. If I want that F1 car in Forza 5, I need to put in the hours earning money from races so that I can buy it.

If the good stuff was easy to get straight away, where would the fun be!

Not spending hours just to get to the point you bought the game for? I personally dislike that every game has artificially inflated its play-time by adding level progression / unlockables. Most of which (especially in BF4) aren't used for any other reason than exactly that. You don't get matched against people of the same level, it's not actually doing anything than preventing you from having some kind of content unlocked. What is the purpose of progression if you aren't playing with people who are at similar points in that progression?

I miss videogames that weren't trying to rob you of hours of play just to get all their content. There have for sure always been games like that in the past but now it is inescapable. And it's infuriating. This is exactly why despite all the BS with MCC's matchmaking I'm willing to wait it out and deal with them. Because it is a game I know I don't have to have had 100 hours in to get everything out of it.

I like Destiny, but I don't love it.  It has not lived up to the hype for me.  I was hoping for some kind of a MMO Mass Effect/Halo hybrid with a story of epic proportions.  Instead I got literally just a couple hours of campaign missions followed by, "The real fight is 'out there' ".  The multiplayer is kind of fun, but outside of that, once you finish the story mode, there's literally nothing to do except do repetitive daily side quests to grind for points to buy better gear, which doesn't even do anything in PVP except for when the Iron Banner is active.

I feel like I paid $60 for a game that is far from being a finished product.

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
    • CPPC states can also be messed around with in most UEFI settings but aren't as robust as the ones that the Windows Scheduler can provide! Make sure you look into what your motherboard also has before customizing for the Windows Scheduler.
