Has someone who eagerly waited for this game played it? I know critics haven't been any good. But critics aren't everything and I wanted to know from a player's perspective, how did it go.

I played it at #EGX 2014, and then there was an alpha test open to the public which was the same demo. If you're at home with the Souls series it performs mechanically similar, but with a larger focus on attack than defence.

Playing through Lords of the Fallen as the wait to the end of March is taking it's toll! It really is a poor mans Souls game, but it's enjoyable enough to warrant the price I picked it up for.

I'm not into the "Soul's type of games, but that was pretty nice...

Boss battles are the highlights of the Souls series. A lot of fun in co-op. Co-Op does make some battles trivial, but that's usually after the fanbase has gotten techniques down to a tee for each of the bosses. I still fondly remember a massive amount of deaths in the first week of Dark Souls co-op on the Capra Demon.

From various GAF:

1) The Japanese Bloodborne site was updated today with a lot of new online play details.

Translated details per a banned site:

  • Co-op is still the same as in the network alpha, hosts use a Lulling Bell to request help and the game automatically matches them to a helper who has used the Small Resonant Bell (there are no summon signs in Bloodborne)
  • Co-op ends when a boss is defeated or the host or guests die, or the host uses Parting Shot on a guest
  • Players can create a "Watchword" of 8 characters that will allow them to co-op with only people who have the same Watchword. This does not work for PVP.
  • You can invade other people by using an Ominous Ringing Bell, the goal of invasion is to defeat the host.
  • Hosts can use Parting Shot to evict an invader, and invasions will also end if the invader dies or the host enters a boss area.
  • Some areas will have a Bell Maiden already present, and she lures invaders to your world.
  • The Bell Maiden may also appear when you request/begin co-op.
  • In the Chalice Dungeon you may see "illusions" of other players in the same part of the dungeon (this is different from the network test alpha where you could see illusions anywhere, this point implies they will only exist in CD).
  • You can click someone's Messenger tombstone to see how they died anywhere in the game.
  • You can click someone's Messenger notes to tongue but hole
  • There are 2 types of Chalice Dungeon: normal and generated.
  • You can only generate a dungeon online, but you can play either type online or offline.
  • You can share generated dungeons online.
  • PS+ is required for pvp/co-op, asynchronous features (notes/tombstones/phantoms), and sharing your Chalice Dungeon configuration. You can download patches and other people's Chalice Dungeon configurations without PS+.
  • There will be a Day One patch (improve performance/online gameplay usability).

2) According to an anonymous 4chan user's photo of the Bloodborne box, the minimum HDD size is 41GB.

First souls title to allow you to specifically choose who you co-op with!

Hosts can use Parting Shot to evict an invader, and invasions will also end if the invader dies or the host enters a boss area.

What does this mean?! If you get invaded you can shoot the invader to make them instantly leave your game?

Big spoilers (I'm not watching, on media and social media blackout), but here is a glimpse of the Chalice Dungeon/a Boss

This is a post detailing how the chalice dungeons work, it was removed from reddit for spoilers but saved in time. Again massive spoilers, and I haven't read it.

OMG IT'S BLOODBORNE DAY!!!

I'm totally leaving work early, woooooo!

Can the entire game be played in Co-Op?

I've been trying to find information in regards to this...

Yes, like every souls game before it you can play the whole thing co-op. It's even easier to do so in Bloodborne due to the passcode system they implemented.

    • Given only Volume license customers and specific resellers can obtain the LTSC versions legitimately it seems likely that this has been tinkered with quite a lot!
    • Apple CEO Tim Cook confirms looming price hikes due to memory shortages by Hamid Ganji Image via Apple Memory and chip shortages have led to significant price increases for electronics over the past year, and it seems that more hikes are on the way for upcoming smartphones and computers. Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that the company is planning to increase the prices of some of its products due to the ongoing memory and storage shortages. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Cook confirmed the looming price hikes for Apple’s future products, adding that “Unfortunately, price increases are unavoidable.” He also said the company is doing its best to “mitigate the huge increases that are being passed to us, and we’ve been trying to shield our customers from the increases, but the situation has become unsustainable.” The Apple CEO also noted that the allocation of a large portion of memory chips to AI companies has contributed to shortages in the market, resulting in lower supply at a time when demand for devices remains high. “We definitely need memory pricing and supply to return to reasonable levels for consumer products. That’s the bottom line,” Cook said. Cook also added that Apple is ready to use its vast cash reserves to help boost supply in the market because additional production capacity is needed. While he declined to specify how Apple plans to do that, he said the company will not build its own memory and storage factories despite its financial resources and silicon expertise. Cook did not provide further details on the scale of the price increases or which Apple products would be affected, though iPads and Macs could see higher prices sooner than other products. Apple’s next product launch event is scheduled for September, when the company is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable iPhone. It remains unclear whether the upcoming iPhones will be affected by the price increases, but given the current memory shortage, higher prices seem increasingly likely. There is currently no clear timeline for the end of the memory shortage. Samsung, one of the world’s three largest memory chip manufacturers, recently said the shortage could persist for several more years.
    • Downloads does not equal actual usage, even less when the app is pre-installed in some Galaxy phones.
    • +1000 to this, don't understand why they added that margin around the top bar, even the close button is a PITA to click without aiming. Ofc, this is just preview and hopefully they will revert such odd UX decision before hitting final version.
