Supergirl (TV Series)

That footage was cringeworthy.

Didn't even know who Melissa Benoist was, so I did a Google search.

My adult filter is off, so I had a bit of a shock at the pictures that showed up.

Yeah her past is actually porn well adult photoshoots lol

She went from Adult stuff... to Glee? That must have been one hell of a reality change!

No plan for the UK showing of this? :(

Got to admit, I'm mainly interested because she is pretty damn cute

I had a bit of interest till I saw that preview, now I've none.  It's like a bad early 90s tv series .... like superboy..............sooooooooooooooooooooo baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad

Seeing as how "Superboy" is from '88...............

Yea, not sure about this.  Especially after watching Daredevil on Netflix.  Seems like Super Girl is a poorly acted half assed attempted at making something good.  Yea, I am just going off the trailer but I would be surprised if this goes to season 2 and really surprised if there is a 3rd season.  And the fact that Supergirl reveals herself to the public by saving people on a plane...that was done in Superman and Superman 4.  Booooring.

NO. Private pics of her and her fiancee, along with dozens of other public figures and celebrities, were stolen during the iCloud hack and put up on 4Chan last year.

Or don't take nude pics?  Let alone pics of you having sex to, I don't understand people today.  The whole selfie craze is one thing, but taking pics of yourself nude to?  How vain can we get?

Ah sorry, miss-understood what was said earlier.

Yeah, but looking at the amount of different individuals that were "hacked" during the fappening, I can't believe it was as simple as that. I'm sure there was some security compromise in Apple's systems that they weren't ready to divulge.

OT, I think this looks cheesy as heck and I doubt it'll be interesting enough for me to continue watching this after the pilot.

You should re-read what I said, I never said it'd crossover with the MoS movie universe, I'd said they'd be able to use the character, supergirl, in a future MoS movie, there's a difference.   This supergirl tv series could crossover with Arrow and Flash though, which is what I expect more.   Having "supergirl" on CBS and not the CW would just be because WB/DC wants to use the character in a movie, putting it on CW means you tie it to the other two shows at the hip, I'm guessing they don't want to, even though it's the same companies behind all 3 tv shows so they could do a crossover between the three or not.

"Though, I honestly don't get why it'd be hard to just link the movies with the tv series now, supergirl could be the show that does it actually."

That's just a hypothetical on my part, no one expects this to happen.  People have thought about Arrow and Flash linking to the new movie universe but WB doesn't want to do it.   And you can link the two without doing a full on crossover, just a comment about "supergirl" in one of the movies would do it.

And I don't expect my comments to be taken seriously by anyone, but they fit the context -- even hypothetically, the tone between the two is jarringly different. Then again, Marvel has Ant-Man in the same universe as the Daredevil...

And again, the show looks way too campy for me. If that's your thing, knock yourself out.

I don't know if it'll be good or not, I don't take trailers and such to mean much personally.  I just find it interesting that they put this on CBS and not on the CW with the others.

I'll give it a shot but I'm doubtful. Also kind of curious how they'd handle it being supposedly in the Arrow/Flash universe when the Supergirl promo seems to imply Superman having been in the public eye for a noticeable amount of time, but characters from the other two shows see Barry as the world's introduction to superpowers.

I just read an article about them possibly setting up the idea of multiple universes in Flash next season... so with that in mind, it would be pretty easy to do crossovers if they wanted.

It does look awfully cheesy. I think the success of Arrow/The Flash has been the dark gritty aspect. Yes, I know that The Flash has been a lot more light hearted, but since the reveal of the true identity of the Reverse Flash at Christmas, it's been handling a very fine balance between light hearted-ness and dark aspects. This along with every other Superman related TV Show/Movie in the past just looks too cheesy. I guess Superman/girl just entails that cheesy airy fairy storyline. Whether it does enough to pull in the viewers is gonna be the hard part for the script writers!

    • Rufus alternative Ventoy now supports Windows 11's mandatory update, fixes major boot bug by Sayan Sen While Microsoft has its own official Media Creation Tool used for making bootable USB media, there are some popular third-party utilities as well which offer additional options like bypassing system requirements, Microsoft Account creation, and more. One of these is Ventoy, and the software has received its latest update today. In fact, the app actually got a slew of updates over the last couple of days, three version releases in total, to be specific. The first release, version 1.1.13, was pulled as there was some unspecified error in the update, and as such, the corrected version 1.1.14 was pushed out. Following that on very short notice, 1.1.15 was published as well. For those unfamiliar, Ventoy is an open-source utility that lets users create a bootable USB drive once and then simply copy ISO, WIM, IMG, VHD, or EFI files onto it without repeatedly formatting the drive. It supports both legacy BIOS and UEFI boot modes, Secure Boot, and a wide range of operating systems, making it one of the most versatile tools in the category. The biggest change in version 1.1.14 is an updated Secure Boot shim file aimed at resolving the UEFI CA 2023 issue, which is basically a compatibility problem that has affected Secure Boot environments on some systems. If you recall, we reported about severe boot issues on HP devices following the release of updated Secure Boot 2023 keys. For anyone who may not be aware, back in early 2024, Microsoft announced that it was updating Secure Boot keys as they were going to become 15 years old in 2026, which is also when they are set to expire. As such, the new 2023 certificates have been rolling out with the newest Windows 11 updates. Updated boot manager and Secure Boot certificates are crucial for protection against malware like bootkits. These are mandatory updates. Alongside that, the VentoyPlugson graphical plugin configurator was updated in sync with the release. The update also introduces a new VTOY_SECURE_BOOT_POLICY option within the Global Control plugin, giving users more flexibility in managing Secure Boot behavior. Ventoy has also received a fix for a startup issue when Secure Boot was disabled. Microsoft does officially allow users to boot systems without Secure Boot as long as the PC is Secure Boot capable. The full changelog is given below: Update secure boot shim file to solve the UEFI CA 2023 issue. The new release use a new CA, so you need to enroll the new key for the first boot time. VentoyPlugson update synchronously. Global control plugin add a VTOY_SECURE_BOOT_POLICY option. Fix the boot issue when Secure Boot is disabled in the UEFI firmware. You can download the latest version of the app here on Ventoy's official GitHub repo or from Neowin software stories.
    • Windows 11 is fine, no issues on any of the machines I've run it on since release. The stricter security requirements are a good thing, sometimes the baseline needs to change and people will winge, but it is what it is. Happened with the move from 9x to NT - broke compatability Happened with XP SP2 when security started to become a serious consideration Certainly happend with Vista that brought in UAC, the concept of not running as admin (something that has been the norm in Linux/Unix from pretty much the start) and a completely new driver stack. Windows 11 will probably get looked back at as the point where even consumer and SMB IT was dragged kicking and screaming into a somewhat secure by default configuration.
    • Bluestacks has been emulating Android on Windows for fifteen years. It's janky and riddled with ads though, so WSA looked like it was going to be a huge improvement over the emulator experience. Too bad Microsoft dropped the ball on that.
    • Classic. China would be nothing without Western, Japanese, and South Korean technology.
    • The world is larger then your small viewpoint. Plenty of scientists care about this, especially those involved in space.
