What was the last movie you watched? (2015 Edition)

If you have recently watched a movie post it here with a little tidbit of what you thought and a rating whether it be out of /5 or /10 :)

Please use spoiler tags for "recently" released movies (5 years since the release date is a good cut-off)  or just avoid spoilers all together!

Dracula untold - 1/5 horrible, but I'm a sucker for cheesy movies.

Revenge of the Green Dragons 1/5 - Don't know why Martin Scorsese attach his name to this crappy movie, I get it that the directors of this movie gave you the rights to remake Infernal Affairs as The Departed and you won your first Oscar with that movie.

In the theater, Fury. Not bad, not great.

First watch, probably Guardians of the Galaxy. Not bad, not great.

Watching Django Unchained right now for the second time, better than what my first impression was.

2014 was a pretty dismal year for film.

Most recent: Naked Gun with my best friend on New Years Eve

Most recent in theater: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Part 1. (I've lost count of how many people I've fooled with that little addendum!)

The Descendants - 7/10 - A bit fun and relaxing, something you could enjoy on a plane trip.

Flight - 7/10 - A bit fun and exciting, something you'd probably not enjoy on a plane trip.

Watched a fair amount over the past few weeks!

catch me if you can - 8/10 excellent plot, script and a superb acting all round

lego movie - a bit kiddish but some good parts, mostly involving batman though :p 6/10

my cousin vinny - excellent old school comedy 8/10

Terminator 1 - seen this so many times now! 9/10

Terminator 2 - also seen this many times now!!! :D When I was younger, this one use to be my favourite but now that I am older, T1 is the better one imo 8/10

Eden Lake - a very frustrating gore type of film 7/10

transformers AOE - MEH! The worse one by FAR 4/10 2 points purely for the dinobots.....

cop land - basic plot but very well executed with a whole range of excellent actors 7/10

dawn of the planet of the apes - excellent plot, acting, CGI, script, action scenes etc. etc. 8/10

batman begins - the first proper good super hero film and was the one to really kick start the super hero movie universe on the big screen imo, a bit too much time spent on his past though 8/10

the dark knight - fantastic sequel, the joker/heath really did make the film, I loved all the twists when it came to the joker. I felt that Harvey Dent's transformation into "two face" was a bit too sudden though, they should have worked up to it more from the very beginning or show in secret that he had a much darker side, kind of like how they are portraying him in the tv show Gotham 9/10

the dark knight rises - a fantastic film to end Nolan's batman films, just a shame they revealed the ending about a third of the way through the film.... The only thing which I felt was very poor was the combat/fight scenes, very poorly done! Didn't like the whole Blake storyline either. 8/10

insomnia - a typical Nolan film that keeps you on the edge throughout, some nice twists and a superb ending 8/10

memento - one of Nolan's weakest films by far, very basic plot but a good cast and script kept it interesting enough 7/10

prestige - WOW! Amazing that is all! :D Better than inception imo 9/10

teenage mutant ninja turtles - loved this! Entertaining right from the start. I was expecting it to be rather bad but I felt that they got the turtles personality spot on 8/10

hunger games mockingjay part 1 - very good! The damn scene give me goosebumps!!! Can't wait for the last part 8/10

Flight - 7/10 - A bit fun and exciting, something you'd probably not enjoy on a plane trip.

I thought this was going to be a prestige movie, turns out it was much more meaningful. I liked it.

I watched The Wolf of Wallstreet most recently. Quarter DeCaprio narration, quarter porn, quarter MTV Cribs, and a quarter drug showcase. 3 hours long and odd. Meh.

Had so much potential,  I mean, you got the premise, developed it, why blow it all to hell, why not try to show

at least in a bit, what happens to man kind as they acquire the knowledge

5/10

Dom Hemingway (2013)

6/10

Could have been really great in the hands of Guy Ritchie.

Awesome movie. As a person who lived in UK for many years, I am a sucker for good british movies.   Its not Guy Ritchie good, but it is certainly very entertaining for me.

7.5/10

I went in expecting it to be a bit boring as it basically follows Ivan Locke (Tom Hardy) in the car, but with frequent telephone calls with different people with different issues...I thought it was something different and well worth a watch.

Agreed, Dan Stevens performance!

They should bring him into Bourne  movies!

+1 Hardy's performance... This role pretty much consolidates him as an actor, barely any support cast, all up to him.

    • They already threw the Ultra 1st gen under the bus?
    • Right, Google... because that's who this is going to. Google, the company who's entire business model is geared around ad revenue and your personal data.
    • That is the natural course for regulations. First to protect the consumer. Then to protect the business/industry from upstart competition. There are countless examples across history.
    • I have never been a huge fan of libre, it feels really good but exactly when you need an advance feature for data wrangling it falls short every time or has bugs. I am all for euro office if they can deliver a good and usable alternative to MS office with backing of govt function.
    • Go on, I'll bite. How does windows (nice comment on an 'article' which doesn't actually involve it ) lock users out of their data then? Been using it since 3.1 back in 92 and not once have I been locked out of my data? Perhaps you mean Bitlocker? In which case the average user (who doesn't mess about) will have been forced to use a MSA, and in which case the recovery key would have been saved to said account..... If the user did happen to bodge around and not use an MSA then Bitlocker wouldn't have become live (as it cannot without a safe place to store the key) I want to point out Bitlocker and MSA are not connected and you can of course force it on without a safe place to store the key, but you do that with your eyes open. So your standard consumer who knows no better sets up an MSA, gets bitlocker and a recovery key stored off box, with a route to reset their password. All of this notwithstanding the fact, if your data is important, you back it up, no ifs, no buts, no-ones responsibility other than your own. Important data lives in at least two locations, one of which is offline and recovery is tested, otherwise that data wasn't really that important. Disks, fail, laptops get lost, phones end up down the toilet, tablets get stolen, if your only copy of data is on a single device you're doing it wrong.
