What was the last movie you watched? (2015 Edition)

Recommended Posts

Equilibrium (netflix rainy day, gf abroad, nothing to do, found this)

I think it was at least ok, I enjoyed watching

i don't understand why people seem not to like the movie.  it was AMAZING.     just came out around of time of Matrix, and seem a weaker copy, maybe.

forget the cliche story.... actual implementation of the movie is one of the best!     it is definately in my top 10 overall action scifi movies that are fun to watch.

i have being planning to watch this and cumberbatch Imitation Game.

I did not realize cumberbatch already did a previous reincarnation of hawking movie already, years ago...

i think i am going to go with imitation game first, but i am still not sure.

both sound potentially very interesting, both sound like they can be boring too though...

eventually i will definitely watch both.   but not sure when

Benedict's Hawking is a good movie but it is all at the very start of his life at university. You see him in the very beginning of his illness before he loses the ability to walk. Because of this it isn't really possible to compare the two films. Benedict did a very good job in the role but he didn't have to go anywhere near where Eddie had too physically.

The Imitation Game is great too but remember it isn't a documentary so don't take it all at face value.

Birdman..

I expected a movie tailored for the movie industry and the oscars, I wasn't disapointed... I want my 2 hours back -_-

Ha yeah it is exactly the kind of movie the Academy love. A quirky film about film stars. Who woulda guessed it would win best film :p

Brilliant, well-shot documentary about Snowden (plus The Guardian reporters involved) and filmed alongside him as the leaks were released to the media worldwide, well worth a watch just to see his reasoning behind the mass surveillance disclosures in 2013.

9/10, only because I wanted more.

same here too, and its on TV Channel 4 wednesday at 23:05 :D

Equilibrium was very good movie. It's an hidden gem like Dark City.

At first the gun kata idea looks so bad and stupid it's a wonder the director was able to make something good out of this stupid script. I would rate Equilibrium's script 6/10 at the very most. Totally clich

Why can't you decide? IMHO it is an incredible movie.

6 for the ending and 8 overall. IMHO.

Had high hopes for this but was disappointed with the overlapping of multiple arcs from the anime that made it difficult to follow the plot and there wasn't enough characterization in general. The casting however, was exceptionally spot on (Sanosuke and Saito) and the sword fights with Kenshin were pretty awesome.

Need to watch the sequel, hopefully that fares better - 6/10

What a waste...

The scenario is good, the last act is pretty good, but the rest.... man...

The first 30 minutes? Oh boy... I want to forget them...

Die Antwoord as actors? Forget it, they're a a nerve-racking caricature

Dev Patel? Barely better

Sigourney Weaver and Hugh Jackman are (good) footnotes

The gangsta/electronica/whatever music made me gnash my teeths and almost made me leave, I wish I had a remote to fast-forward at times...

5/10 and I'm generous..

The Pyramid

I was slightly let down by this film. There wasn't really anything in the way of suspense or horror. There are plenty of better films that cover the same themes, such as As Above, So Below and The Descent. However, it did remind me of my interest in Egyptian mythology.

4/10

    • LOL, expect to take you seriously? The $7k myth? Ignoring the BILLIONS Qatar spends every year to influence American politicians and universities? Claim terrorists are "journalists" when they are members of Hamas and even have Hamas funerals with their pictures in Hamas garb. "Snipe kids" when they don't, meanwhile the other side sends kids into battle (and their mothers praise their martyrdom) and uses them as human shields and their schools as rocket launch sites and entrances to their tunnels - which they took all their foreign aid to build at the expense of their people. Base their operations at hospitals - violating every rule of war and making said hospital legitimate military targets? AND THEY KILL LGBTQ+ PEOPLE - listen to their own testimonies themselves, their interviews on what they do to them! They're proud of it! Your talking points are all BS and you know it. Stop defending another Islamic dictatorship that uses terror as their primary policy.

    • We wrote about it here https://www.neowin.net/news/browser-vendors-pen-open-letter-to-microsoft-saying-enough-is-enough/ the open letter itself is here https://browserchoicealliance.org/open-letter/
    • Someone forgot to mention EDR in the title ? I think I will not click anymore on the articles written by this author. All are click bait.
    • Browser vendors including Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and Vivaldi have jointly written an open letter to Microsoft saying enough is enough regarding Edge being pushed on Windows users without consent. Microsoft makes it difficult to change the default browser, promotes Edge throughout Windows 11, and has made the uninstall process unnecessarily complicated compared to other apps. Does anyone have more details on what exactly the open letter demands and whether any regulatory action is being considered? Also curious whether this could lead to antitrust investigations similar to what happened with Internet Explorer back in the day. Would love to hear from anyone following this closely.
