Think I founds a bug. Did a quick search on this thread and didn't see it mentioned. If I click twice quickly (being registered as a double click, I assume) on a scroll bar it seems to register the double click event. For example, if you double click on the scroll bar for the far right panel, it will start playing the selected song from the beginning again. I assume has to do with WPF's routed events stuff that is always confusing.

Thanks for this app. It's awesome!! zune 5.0!!

I have almost 3,000 albums in my collection, Can it manage such a big collection?

Also It would be great if we could add our own artist images so they show up on the now playing screen. Something as flexible like how Plex does it. Artist images in each folder with a name like "poster_1,poster_2,poster_3" and fade randomly into each other with text.

And different styles of Spectrum analyzer we could choose from.

Donation on it's way.

Thanks for all your hard work.

I've had a user having problems with a very big collection because at this point the indexer is rather slow. I plan to improve it.

I'll write down your other ideas as feature requests.

Confirmed! I've logged a bug. It's indeed WPF stuff. The double click is not checking if there is a listbox item under the cursor.

Quickly. I've added these links to the bug "Indexer is too slow" back then :) I'll look into it in detail when rewriting the indexer.

An application released supporting Dutch, french and english.

Turn out my hunch was right and you are from belgium. :D

Nice to sea great things coming from the same village even ;)

Same village really? Where are you from? (PM me)

Well, I mentioned this on frontpage but:

1: Why is this only a music player?

2: Besides you only speaking these languages, why not get translations going?

I think 2 is more important as it gets a lot more internationally known...

1. Short answer: because I needed only a music player :). Long answer: I needed a music player, because all those that are already around do a great job, but they don't suit my needs. My music player needs to:

a. play music (of course :))

b. provide just enough features to organize and listen to my music

c. keep things simple and not provide any more bloat than is required to achieve "b"

d. look good (without needing hacks)

I have no need to create a video player. My needs for a video player are: double click video file and play (and support subtitles). There are plenty around that suit these needs.

2. I'll see later on. I'm still in a very early phase of development and I honestly don't know yet where I'm headed with this.

Sweet. Thanks for the info. Right now I just made a secondary directory with a bunch of albums to test.

Btw. Will it be able to sync content to windows phone in the future? That would be great.

I'd love this too. In my dreams there is even a Dopamine Windows Phone player, as I don't like the xbox music one. But as I'm doing this in my spare time, there are a lot of time constraints (I'm already streching my free time sometimes. I have to restrain of pushing myself too far sometimes).

Then why don't you download the X(A)ML file and start translating it to other languages:

Well he probably didn't know about it. Also, that xaml is not up to date anymore. I am to blame . It's one annoyance with a project which still changes a lot.

Raphael, can you create a feature, not necessarily now but, if your system can't find an album cover that we can right click on the album in the album section and add "an album cover" for any albums?

just for future reference? I have an album without a cover as you can see..

Yeah, that would be cool and quite convenient.

Approved! I'll add that when I'm adding tagging support. The plan is the following (in this order, but no ETA yet though, just coding whenever I can):

- Finish Songs screen (in progress)

- Add playlists support (not started)

- Add rating support (not started)

- Add tagging support

And somewhere in between I plan a rewrite of the indexer

Hi all,

While building the Songs screen (damn simple screen which is giving me a lot of technical headaches :)) I'm already thinking about giving the mini player some love. What do you think of something like this? (this is a mockup)

The "List" button on the left would show the list of queued songs. The volume button would pop up a menu with a slider. When the mouse is hovering the button it would be possible to change the volume while scrolling.

Raphel have you thought about a way to backup playlists? Because of work, I change computers about every 2 months and right now the only option I have to keep my playlists is cloud based.

Do you mean saving to m3u or backing up the files too?

    • Google are hyprocrites for signing this. They have been pulling the same dirty tactics as Microsoft, only they do it on Android and ChromeOS.
    • In some countries the law has forced Microsoft to display a menu on a fresh install of Windows which asks which web browser you want and it will install that browser. This doesn't add any bloat to Windows. It simply an additional step when setting up a new PC.
    • Chrome is also a first party browser on Android and ChromeOS. And on those systems, Google is pulling the same dirty tactics as Microsoft does on Windows.
    • Unofficial script lets you install unreleased Windows 11 features without Microsoft Account by Sayan Sen Microsoft has been steadily evolving the Windows Insider Program over the years, introducing new channels and testing paths that allow enthusiasts to experience upcoming and yet-to-be-released Windows features (some interesting hidden ones too) before they reach the public. However, one long-standing requirement has remained largely unchanged as users are generally expected to enroll in the Program and with a Microsoft account. That's where a third-party tool called "OfflineInsiderEnroll" can help. OfflineInsiderEnroll is said to be a lightweight script that enables access to Windows Insider Program builds on systems that are not signed in with a Microsoft account. Essentially the tool configures the necessary Insider settings locally and hence allows users to select and switch between available preview channels while continuing to receive builds through the normal Windows Update channel. If you are wondering how it manages to do so, it is made possible by a Registry value known as TestFlags. When configured to"0x20", Windows stops communicating with Microsoft's online Insider enrollment services thus preventing locally configured Insider settings from being overwritten. This allows the script to apply its own channel configuration directly through the Registry as Windows Update does not verify whether a device has been officially enrolled in the Insider Program or not. Previously the utility has had already supported the traditional Insider branches including Dev, Beta, and Release Preview. However following Microsoft’s recent restructuring of its preview channels, the script has now been updated. The latest OfflineInsiderEnroll version, 2.6.6, adds support for the newly introduced Insider channel lineup. As such, users can now choose from several Experimental channels in addition to Beta and Release Preview options. The update also retains tools for refreshing the Insider cache, resetting Insider settings, and completely stopping Insider enrollment when needed. Keep in mind though that will need elevated privileges when running the script (run as Admin). You can get the latest version of OfflineInsiderEnroll from this page on its official GitHub repo.
