NeoRequest Public Preview

Question

The Beta has been returning some good comments and suggestion and bugs, and many changes have been made that were recommended.

Jmann and I are pleased to annouce the public preview of the Neowin Graphic Request system. For those of you who are not familiar, the previous graphic request threads worked, but there are many things that the new system does for the process.

Requests will no longer get lost in all the jibber jabber that filled the current threads.

To start, login with your Neowin credentials.

NeoRequest allows someone who is looking for a graphic the chance to submit a request. The request must include certain information to be submitted. Once it is submitted an artist can accept to work on it. The requestor will know who is working on the request. The requestor, artist, or a normal person logging in can post comments/Questions on the request. Once an artist is finished, he/she will submit a URL to a graphic or a zip file containing the graphics.

The artist has the option to track their work and all work completed in the past in the artist workdesk. This is also where the artist submits their finish products for a request. An artist can also edit previously submitted URLs for any reason.

A basic search function is available for a quick search of historical requests.

We hope you enjoy the system, see the benefit of it, and continue to make your graphic requests through it.

Once again, this is a public preview, not a final product. It is almost a final product. The risk of data loss is possible. Also, changes can and are still being made, so please be patient. Access the system to become familiar with it, test it out, or make a live request!

Have fun, if you find errors, have a suggestion, or have a question about it, PM Jmann or chorpeac!

The address to access the system is NeoRequest

On the lite version you should use some css like this for the buttons:

{
background-color; #ffffff;
font-size: 12px;
color: #000000;
padding: 10px;
}

.navBar a
{
background-color: Transparent;
color: #000000;
text-decoration: none;
padding: 0px 4px 0px 4px;
border: solid 1px;
border-color: #ffffff;
}

.navBar a:hover
{
background-color: Transparent;
color: #000000;
border: solid 1px;
border-color: #000000;
}

Im not sure all of that is syntactically correct, as i just wrote it off the top of my head. But i think you get the idea. Its similar to the Microsoft hover style.

Also the colors arent what should be used, there just the

OK we have been updated. I streamlined some of the code, and styles in preparation for skins. The current source should be much easier to skin now jmann...check out the stylesheet.

I have added a total for each of the sections in Request View.

I'm still working on figuring out the email and Donuts login problem.

Please post any further comments or problems.

Should I add a texbox to the requesting procedure to allow the requestor to offer money for the end graphic?

Just thinking...I have seen these requests on neowin.

I wasn't thinking of placing the payment process in NeoRequest, that would have to be arranged by the requestor and the winning artist. Ideas?

I'm working on some internal things to automatically place hyperlinks when you type a http:// address. If this works, I may even be able to put the emoticons in there :D

Edit:Oh and I think the email is working. Jmann, can you go in there and accept the request I have, and add any url to it?

This is one, I am currently testing people. I thought I would try this from a basic idea of Longs, Longhorn theme for NeoRequest, it looks amazing in Photoshop and keeps getting better by the second but its putting the code in, but I am sure I could try it. :) So here is a teaser picture for you.

JMann :)

Edit: I am trying to darken the logo at the moment.

Where do the ads go. I also think the buttons are totatlly in the wrong place at the top. I would put them under the stats area.

Hava

Its only an image at the moment, it can and will change, but the butons probably wont. They are staying there probably. They do not look right under the stats box. Anyway, I was the themes to be different from each other.
