The only thing in the e-mail they say is "Check newsgroups if you can't download it". But I don't even know the information for the newsgroups.

When you click the join button, you're required to fill a pre-survey at the WLM8 site, which includes the following information right on the frontpage

We know you are all anxious to get started so we have opened up the newsgroups for you to use. Here is a chance to get to know your fellow beta testers and start building a beta community that will help make Windows Live Messenger great. If you haven't set up your newsgroups you can do so by clicking the ?Community? link on the left and follow the instructions.

And under the articles heading on the frontpage, they have a link titled: "How To File a Good Bug&qu:); :)

On a Side Note: [url=http://gprime.net/video.php/wheresyourpetbeaver]http://gprime.net/video.php/wheresyourpetbeaver[/u:p] :p

i think canada should physically detach from USA because of this! We dont want to be called north "americans" anymore!

Everyone take your pet beavers and slead dogs to PULL canada away!!!!!

And if that doesnt work we'll retreat to our igloos!

ONWARD!

:p

LMFAO. Post of the day, definately.

Or you know, better yet, lets grab our beavers and go to Live's web devs. Maybe they'll be motivated by our beavers with those sharp buck teeth. :D

 Yup !

Just a question, I'm not sure if it's been addressed but I'm not willing to read 13 pages to find out  ...but when I goto ideas.live.com (as in today) it says Windows Live Messenger BETA is "coming soon"..is this refering to the public beta? unless the current Beta test is been released to selected regions at a time perhaps? I'm just curious

Well, there are some people that have been invited to test it, and a lot more that havent - check the "request for invites thread" if you wanna know how many :D . I dont know how they are releasing it concerning regions... but it has been released to the: USA, UK, Japan, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Brazil, Korea, Netherlands, and Spain. Right now, WLM 8 is in "Managed Beta," which means that it is only avaliable to MSFT, MCI employees users who have tested previous closed-betas; users who signed up through http://connect.microsoft.com; some loyal blog readers , and handful of others.

Hope this helps!

    • Absolutely NOBODY has suggested such a conclusion. I am affirming the sober reality check that AV2's overall market adoption will take longer than AV1's adoption rate -- which, by the way, is the whole point of the article! While PCI-SIG is productive (on paper), other WGs have created all sorts of confusing progress plans that consumers have tuned-out of their improvements... HTML/W3C, USB, HDMI, BT, WIFI (ieee802.11) as a few other groups where spec naming conventions, split progress paths, overlapping ambitions... I'm not critiquing the AV specs group; I'm simply affirming that adoption for AV2 faces headwinds beyond the macroeconomics of it all.

    • No thanks! WebView trash is unacceptable. I only use software that's native.
