What's with all the chinese people flooding the forums asking for invites?

Do they realise that the WLM8 client is in english?

because we have the Chinese version WLM 8, but we all have no invite!

it seems that the invite is just for the client in English.

Ok, 2 things:

1: Does microsoft ever randomly send invites out, or does it only work like Gmail did with invites from established people only?

I got an invite this morning from somewhere, and it came on an account that pretty much nobody has. :dontgetit:

(If this somehow came from Jase, thanks man, I owe you one. :) :) :) )

2: I went and logged into the live beta site, and it said that I had zero invites (?). Do I not get any at all, or do they generate over time? If so, how long does it take?

3: If I don't get any invites at all, is there a way for me to reinstall a 7.5 build as well to run my other msn account too?

You know how it says "The Future of MSN Messenger" at the bar at the bottom of the contact list window? Whenever I see it this comes to mind: "If it is then I'm scared."

Yes, Microsoft sends you an email with a button/link you have to click to activate your account.

Anyone know if mess is going to release a patch or when the next release comes out? The status and buddy icons need massive improvement IMO, but besides the looks it looks to be a quality release.

True the icons need work, but I personaly would rather have messenger plus tuned for it instead of icons.

I was sent another invite, this time from Microsoft directly. Is there any difference at all in what you get with the two different invites? I was added originally by another member and then just today by Microsoft. It gave me a link and said I can also go the the ideas.live.com site to download it. I've alread been able to download. So I was just wondering if you truely get more with the one that comes directly from them. I also, including that one, have two sitting in my inbox now that I haven't used. Can you forward them to others?

You don't download through connect. You will receive an invitation code that you enter in Connect, fillout the survey and then they will send you an email with a download link that also activates your account.

Screw messpatch, they are slow and don't often release patches for betas. Check out apatch instead. It doesn't change any graphics (nor will messpatch) but it makes wlm way more pleasing. :)
