I just went to connect to check if the build was there and got this.

"The system has encountered an unexpected error. We apologize for the inconvenience. The issue will be addressed as quickly as possible.

If this error continues, click the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page to report the issue and include this error ID in your e-mail: 259ece89-e2c2-44a6-808a-405d76d8a1ec"

It's coming!

You can navigate around this and just go straight to downloads (on the left), although I belive it's gone now :)

I think they got rid of it for now because there were problems with it. But if it doesn't appear in RTM, you can be sure that someone else will recreate it...

Yeah, it went back for a re-design - but its coming back! :) And in its new form, it blows the old iteration to bits; both design-wise and functionality-wise.

Can anyone provide a small review on what has changed? (assuming you have used it)

I'm still on 5456 so I haven't used it. But from what I read, the main difference is performance. It is a lot more optimised now ... and should be quite useable on a system with 512MB RAM.

I just hope the boot time can be reduced drastically.

Huh? My boot times in 5456 are very good, boots quicker than XP.

I just hope a few of the silly bugs are fixed in this new build. I suppose I'll download it and see when I could be bothered.

This topic is now closed to further replies.

    • From the incredibly asinine idea of disposable AI datacenter satellites launching into low Earth orbit to building out yet another unnecessary mobile network, this con-man will do ANYTHING to scam investor suckers and get his stock prices up. This stinks of panic to me. Good.
    • The "Drop" feature will also be retired 👇 https://x.com/i/status/2067838711870439583 . And here I explain a workaround to restore Edge's sidebar app list 👇 https://x.com/i/status/2065149359314829650 .
    • And they say Brits are better educated than Americans. Seriously, mate, the American Empire built the Industrial Revolution -- specifically via the transport and exploitation of oil. Not the UK. Whereas, the British Empire was built for centuries on the oceanic "spice trade" -- which "coincidentally" overlapped all of the places where Opium was grown, aka the world's only surgical grade anesthetic for ten thousand years. The British Empire was the first seagoing UPS (and even local dealer) of the Old World. For what it's worth, all mining, processing, manufacturing, and distribution are becoming robotic in the near future. And it will then make sense for everything to be manufactured (by robots) on the continent where those products will be sold. So, while no humans will be involved, manufacturing will become local again one day. PS Trump is a lying, fascist, ignorant, crooked, idiot **** who fearmongers the same racist, misogynist cowardly ###### used by charlatans, Nazis, and con-men going back tens of thousands of years. It's never been true.
