Can someone explain how you can check the MD5 hash for the file you download, Ive always wondered that but never figured out how to do it.

Robert McLaws notes that after RC2, Microsoft is changing the Product Activation Keys and checking in new code including some UI code as they continue work toward RTM. Build 5744, or Windows Vista RC2 is the very last build beta testers will see publicly.

Its apparent Microsoft has some surprises up their sleeves for users when Windows Vista launches in early 2007.

Nathan Weinberg begins to ponder what kinds of surprises there might be.

I think we can expect new wallpapers, new system sounds of course, a few new icons, more branding - things like that. Remember, they also have the Windows Vista Ultimate Extras to figure out too.

Realistically, what kinds of surprises do you think Microsoft has in store for Vista at launch?

It's good to hear that we are near RTM and that RC2 is the final Release Candidate

I can't wait for RC3 though! We all know it's coming!!! :p

Either way I won't buy Vista until SP1 or the nearest time in the next 10 years when I can afford it.
