Smethead Share Posted June 9, 2008 How are they going to work this out? The iPhone has te be able to be bought seperately from any provider due to laws in Belgium. Will it be more expensive? Like 400 euros? Thats 628.72 USD. Or even more?
Syntax_Error Share Posted June 9, 2008 Not in the slightest.I'm surprised it's such a big deal for some folk. Perhaps they just like to whine and have a dig at Apple. It has taken a dip this year to 42.52 million compared with 57.62 million in 2007 in the UK. Not insignificant. I'm not taking a dig really as I have an iPhone, it's just one feature I miss from my old phone. If all you guys want MMS support. Download the SDK and write your own. Apparently its a piece of **** to write apps for the iPhone. :p I'll add it to my list!
azz0r_wugg Share Posted June 9, 2008 ?130 for an iPhone with 3g? No way Wonder If it'll be network exclusive, for ?130 I'd buy one for my T-Mobile contract.
Quillz Share Posted June 9, 2008 Cara, it was so hectic in the IRC room that I don't think my question was worded properly. What I wanted to know was, you said you've been using the 3G iPhone, but not in its new body. I'm a bit confused there. So, the 3G technology, the GPS, etc. is possible to be fitted into the old body? Also, when you did use the new body, how did the plastic feel to it? Does it feel high quality, almost as good as the aluminum? It just seems that Apple made a big deal last year about being "green" and using aluminum and glass, and then they throw it all away with a plastic body.
ynnoj Share Posted June 9, 2008 ?130 for an iPhone with 3g? No wayWonder If it'll be network exclusive, for ?130 I'd buy one for my T-Mobile contract. It'll remain an O2 exclusive here in the UK up until 2010.

Dane Tweedale Share Posted June 9, 2008 "Twice as fast. Half the price"worldwide price of $199 (Y) So if its world wide $199 that would mean at the current exchange rate it should be ?100.89?
Cara Veteran Share Posted June 9, 2008 I'm kind of hoping Steve was meaning to say 199 local currency. :p We'll have to wait till sales post though.
ynnoj Share Posted June 9, 2008 So if its world wide $199 that would mean at the current exchange rate it should be ?100.89? Unfortunately, I doubt it'll translate to that:((. I'd expect something around the ?140 mark.

Cara Veteran Share Posted June 9, 2008 any news on bluetooth files transfer protocol?and by "twice as fast" have they upgraded the internal processor form 412mhz? to 800mhz? Twice as fast is in reference to the connectivity, 3G. :)
.Kompressor Share Posted June 9, 2008 It will be the equivalent of US dollars $199 not 199 in your currency cause that would be loosing big money. lol so just eliminate that right now from your mind. It's not economically feasible.
Cara Veteran Share Posted June 9, 2008 Depending on the area it wouldn't be losing money. ?199 is greater than $199. ?199 is greater than $199. In areas where it's reversed, do $199 in local currency. Maximized profit.
Syntax_Error Share Posted June 9, 2008 AFAIK Bluetooth is as crippled as ever :/ Yeah what is that all about?

Wannes Share Posted June 9, 2008 I'm kind of hoping Steve was meaning to say 199 local currency. :p We'll have to wait till sales post though. $ 199 would be around ? 127,30 and that's an insane price. In Belgium the iPhones are being sold - imported - for prices around ? 400 at the mome:o. :o
badldragon Share Posted June 9, 2008 What a crock! Still no MMS. Still no video recording, still the same crap 2 mp camera and no video calling. I think that Jobs is missing the point here, all the push/vpn etc connectivity the iphone is providing now is well and good but the vast and I mena 95% of buyers will be joe public and they'll still have to jailbreak to get back functionality that should have been there from the start. Still it does look feckin minted and at a half decent price (as long as $199 translates to ?100 over here but I bet you its ?199) Malc
ynnoj Share Posted June 9, 2008 (edited) Still no MMS. Still no video recording, still the same crap 2 mp camera and no video calling. Some of those features will be possible following the 2.0 firmware release in early July. That's when the iPhone will show it's real potential.
