Battlefield Bad Company

Okay my coworker just freaked me out, and he said he read somewhere late last night yesterday that he saw that everyone's stats have been reset????

I am at work, so they block all gaming related sites (I cannot even check my stats), but can anyone confirm or deny this rumor?

It's false. The stats servers were down for a bit but they're up again now. As a BF2 veteran I'm sure you've seen it happen before in previous Battlefield games.

Indeed, I remember a few occasions on the PC when I could not even load my soldier. I also remember plenty of occasions where I would not see my points from playing on certain servers go towards my global score until the next day.

Then again I do not really recall the game having as many issues as there was/has been on the consoles back on the PC either. Especially what I read about the PS3 launch, it was less then smooth with the server issues, so even based on prior expereince I cannot say I would have been completely shocked if there was some kind of an issue with everyone losing their stats as it has been a rocky launch on the consoles and the servers running smooth from the gate.

Either way glad to hear it is not the case.

In the past that's what they have done, reset those who cheated, and left everyone else alone. However that was EA when they were sort of nice to their customers. Who knows what they will be like now :(

I think, key word is think, that I might be hopping on in about 30 minutes give or take 10 minutes and can play for about an hour.

So if anyone is around will see you then, and if I do not hop on, my apologies in advanced.

I'll be online around 7ish, had to give yesterday a miss as too stiff with not taking meds the day before :)

I'll add soLoredd and disturb3d to friends list too in case they're on and want to join.

That was some decent matches last night, its good when the squad system is used properly!

Dunno why everyone is raving over this , sick of battlefield games where you might as well just throw the gun at them for more damage than what the bullets do.

Everything is oversized and chunky, the graphics arent all that great, i dont like matchmaking, the controls are way oversensitive, the interface is clunky, dont even get me started about respawning, i played for 30 mins today and all people do is camp at the spawns before youve even had chance to start moving you are dead again.

Waste of ?40.

Did you buy it? Which platform?

Would I.. :innocent: :p

I really love the dogtags though, it's a pretty cool idea. I wish more games used something similar, Call of Duty 4 was half way there with the knife but it didn't really award you for risking CQC.

I already have a few Neowin member's dogtags, so look out :p

HeHe .. Probably won't be on till late tonight (10:30ish) have to go and sort out my sisters satellite connection, she bought a DVD recorder and cannot get it to work with it, women and technology :(

Thanks to Munky, my friend AJ (Gamertag = habnad, I mentioned how he joined our server last night but was on the other team then we backed out to invite him but he was gone), well anyway he was going for a knife kill on me as I was giving Munky a health kit, and Munky luckily turned around and took care of him right before he was about to knife me!! LOLOL

EDIT - And sure enough, habnad just posted the same story above me.

So I owe you one Munky, and I need to start getting my knife kills up, I so far only have 1 believe it or not.

Actually I am going to be playing between 5-6 PM today, which is in a little less than about 4 hours. I definitely plan on playing with AJ as we missed each-other yesterday, so if there are two more people down, cool.

Also I might play as soon as in 10-15 minutes as I am on my lunch break and working from home today, so there is a good chance I will hop on for a round or two very, very soon.

I want mine back!!! :)

I was chasing after you and DL last night, and had you both cornered. I came running up, was just about to knife DL, he stopped short, and I ran right into your gun!!! Would have had both of your tags... ;)

Haha I don't even remember that happening

Welcome to Neowin dude (Y)

Edit: wow, just noticed you joined in December 2002! You've been lurking this whole time?

LOL, I was quite upset (and that's being kind with words) when that whole plan went terribly wrong.

Yeah, I'm hoping I hold some sort of record for being a lurker for almost 6 years...pathetic... :)

    • The entire world moved to the vastly superior and now universally supported Dolby Atmos technology a very long time ago, mate.
    • Insane. This is as crazy as COVID back in 2020, where you could go back one year in time and tell them that everybody's gonna be locked in and now with memory that your old computer was going to be worth more tomorrow
    • "Bad Pool Caller" meaning one of your software is trying to change memory it doesn't own, in a memory pool that's it ,nothing to do with Windows
