Keep those weapons on ready soldier we are releasing Conquest Mode on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 soon, for free! The content will include the traditional Battlefield multiplayer game mode, Conquest. Conquest focuses on the capture and control of flags; once a team captures a control point, its members can re-spawn in the area. When a team loses control of all their flags or control points, they cannot re-spawn.

Maintaining control over the flags on the battlefield is a key to victory and the ability to re-spawn troops close to the battlefront can make all the difference for that last offensive push. Four existing maps have been redesigned along with all new lighting and weather effects, to give players a great battlefield on which to play Conquest. Upon entering one of these maps, the U.S. ARMY will face off against either the Russian or Middle Eastern Coalition forces and the battle for control of the territory will begin. Look for more information soon from DICE on the release date and more details on Conquest Mode.

It will have new lighting and weather effects!

Probably been posted in here but I thought I would re-cap whats coming with Conquest.

apparently they're only going to use 4 current maps for conquest. The one we played yesterday 4 times is def going to be one of them.

hopefully they will launch map packs via xbox live later in the year

by weather effects I hope they mean snow. that would be fantastic. it would be great to follow someone's tracks and follow a sniper into the hills. realistically though they are most likely adding rain and lightning

Thanks for the time update. So we're looking at 5PM EST? Just trying to figure out if I can sneak out of work early enough...have an hour drive home.

So cool, tonight is a "special" night, my wife is working the long shift today, so that means I have from anywhere between 5-6 PM EST to 8 PM. Then 9PM until 11 PM. So that is a lot of playing time.

I need that hour break since I am in charge of dinner when she works the late shift, but since I plan on playing all night, it will be a take out night indeed so all I need to do is make a phone call. LOL

And nice, it appears Conquest is extremely close to the PC version with the MEC and Russians. Real nice.

This is great! :woot: My supervisor boss guy just left for the day...I'm out of here at 4. If there are no pile-ups or accidents on that poor excuse of a highway called the NJ Turnpike, I should be home a little before 5.

I'll need an hour break somewhere too. Get up, walk around a bit, and oh yeah, eat dinner with the better half as well. Or I'll get that menacing look again like I got the other night.

So what was the plan for tonight, try 2 separate squads searching for the same map or guide invites?

I am guessing we can play it by ear and first see how many of us there are, but I would at least like to try the two separate squad things as if for nothing less it will let people talk to eachother instead of potentially being on a squad full of strangers.

Then if that does not work, join through the guide and/or guide invites, because I am actually forgetting, if you join a server that people from your friends list is on, it does try to squad you up with them when possible.

But I am thinking lets try to two squads searching for the same map thing first just to see.

Thank you everyone, that was actually loads of fun, even thought I still don't exactly love the game.

But had a few laughs and finally got to talk to the locals, hope you understood my broken English.

Sorry I just left, server threw me off with a "Lost connection" message - But we should definitely do this again, perhaps some CoD 4 instead? :p

I was playing like crap all night  Not happy. Probably the worst I've done since I bought the game.

Will be back on later though, either for more BF or COD4. I think I need a break from BF though

So anyone else have any ideas of how to get more than 4 to the same map on the same team? The invite thing worked though, but we did keep getting split up.

I'm with you on playing like crap. Plus, Belgarath and myself just watched 2 guys on the other team go 1100+ and 1200+ in that last round. I went 8/28 with barely over 200 points. WTF???

I'm thinkin its time for some COD. Ground War. (Y)

Oh yeah, did you keep getting kicked off?

Need a break myself, I'll be hanging around either playing SP or just browsing the internet :) If I'm still on later send us an invite.

Managed to rank up again tonight and gain the Be The Best achievement, I was quite chuffed with that one :)

I'll play COD but I am only a rank 11, and haven't a clue about customisation of the weapons etc for a custom class. So god help anyone I get into a team with :p

Its possible but its really hard because A) There has to be spaces and B) There would be several different servers of that particular map running.

Yeah, thats why Larry and I left, was just becoming a joke as to what the other team were scoring lol. They weren't even trying! Tonight, I wasn't performing that well either, was hit and miss!

Edit - Belgarath, congrats on that achievement, I got Leatherneck tonight also.

Doesnt bother me one bit what rank you are. I can help you out with the perks. That's easy. And at least Munky wont have to worry about being teamkilled... ;)

I'm not too sure if you heard me, but congrats on the rank up and the Be the Best achievement.

Yer, thanks all, been after the Be The Best for a while, probably one of the more difficult ones to get now that there are more players.

Thats another one, the perks, when I last played COD the other day I was booted off a server for using that one where you can still shoot your pistol when you die. Is it universally a frowned upon perk? As most other servers the players were also saying n00b sod off with the pistol, lame ass etc :( Amongst all the kids swearing and being ###### :p

That and Martydorm are the two perks that are frown on a lot!

Back on BF:BC, I really hope they bring out a patch soon and Conquest should be interesting although Gold Rush is still an awesome game mode!

Not to go off topic...but here goes...

Thats the only bad thing about COD online. The children acting like, well, children. When I play, I usually dont use a headset so i dont have to listen to the whines in the lobby. Or while playing, I just mute the annoying ones. What playlist do you normally play? I usually go with the Team type games, less idiots in those.

As for the Last Stand/Martyrdom perks...they are in the game, they are supposed to be used. Plain and simple.

@ AJ, for some reason my connection was dying and then a few times I tried to join the game on the same team as you. It kept putting me with other players though or on the opposition. I jsut gave up in the end though.

For some reason I'm only getting 5.5 mbps, I should be at least 7 :/

Yeah that's a good point John, I've barely touched Heroes since I installed. Need to put more time into it!

I'm gonna stick around for another hour or so, want to see some of that Munky Magic ... That reminds me of a song ...

Born from an egg on a mountain top

The punkiest monkey that ever popped

He knew every magic trick under the sun

To tease the Gods

And everyone and have some fun

Monkey magic, Monkey magic

Monkey magic, Monkey magic

Monkey magic, Monkey magic

Monkey magic, Monkey magic

What a cocky saucy monkey this one is

All the Gods were angered

And they punished him

Until he was saved by a kindly priest

And that was the start

Of their pilgrimage west

Monkey magic, Monkey magic

Monkey magic, Monkey magic

Monkey magic, Monkey magic

Monkey magic, Monkey magic

With a little bit of monkey magic

There'll be fireworks tonight

With a little bit of monkey magic

Every thing will be all right

Born from an egg on a mountain top

The punkiest monkey that ever popped

He knew every magic trick under the sun

To tease the Gods

And everyone and have some fun

Monkey magic, Monkey magic

Monkey magic, Monkey magic

Monkey magic, Monkey magic

Monkey magic, Monkey magic

    • Rufus 4.15.2393 Beta 2 by Razvan Serea Rufus is a small utility that helps format and create bootable USB flash drives, such as USB keys/pendrives, memory sticks, etc. Despite its small size, Rufus provides everything you need! Oh, and Rufus is fast. For instance it's about twice as fast as UNetbootin, Universal USB Installer or Windows 7 USB download tool, on the creation of a Windows 7 USB installation drive from an ISO (with honorable mention to WiNToBootic for managing to keep up). It is also marginally faster on the creation of Linux bootable USBs from ISOs. A non-exhaustive list of Rufus supported ISOs is available here. It can be especially useful for cases where: you need to create USB installation media from bootable ISOs (Windows, Linux, UEFI, etc.) you need to work on a system that doesn't have an OS installed you need to flash a BIOS or other firmware from DOS you want to run a low-level utility Rufus 4.15.2393 Beta 2 changelog: Add RISC-V 64 support to UEFI:NTFS Improve the guards for using the "silent" option Improve the ability to cancel during write retries Improve progress reporting for compressed image extraction Fix unrestricted XML entity expansion and integer overflow in ezxml parser (courtesy of @esadowski4) [GHSA-55r2-34wg-8mv9] Fix "silent" Windows installation failing at 75% in most cases [#2960] Fix a crash during boot when using UEFI:NTFS on Snapdragon X based ARM64 platforms [#2934] Fix the first WUE option always being checked by default [#2965] Fix an infinite loop when using Windows ISOs that contain multiple WIMs Fix "Enable runtime UEFI media validation" checkbox not always being properly enabled Other WUE improvements/fixes for OneDrive removal and username validation (with thanks to @christian8641) [#2984, #2991] Download: Rufus 4.15 Beta 2 | 1.9 MB (Open Source) Links: Rufus Home Page | Project Page @GitHub | Screenshot Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
    • Tixati 3.43 by Razvan Serea Tixati is a free and easy to use BitTorrent client featuring detailed views of all seed, peer, and file transfer properties. Also included are powerful bandwidth charting and throttling capabilities, and a full DHT implementation. Tixati is one of the most advanced and flexible BitTorrent clients available. And unlike many other clients, Tixati contains NO SPYWARE, NO ADS, and NO GIMMICKS. Tixati portable version is meant to run on a USB flash drive or other portable media. It stores all its configuration files in the same folder as the executable binary files, and all file paths are stored in a format relative to the program executable folder. It is important you do not delete the "tixati_portable_mode.txt" file within the executables folder. This file is what triggers Tixati to run in portable mode. (The executable binaries are actually the same as the standard edition binaries.) When running the portable edition from a USB flash drive, especially one that is formatted in FAT16/FAT32, you may experience some lag when initially loading a new transfer. This is because initializing and allocating large files on flash-based media consumes a greater amount of time and resources compared to a conventional hard-drive. Tixati has the following features: detailed views of all aspects of the swarm, including peers, pieces, files, and trackers support for magnet links, so no need to download .torrent files if a simple magnet-link is available super-efficient peer choking/unchoking algorithms ensure the fastest downloads peer connection encryption for added security full DHT (Distributed Hash Table) implementation for trackerless torrents, including detailed message traffic graphs and customizable event logging advanced bandwidth charting of overall traffic and per-transfer traffic, with separate classification of protocol and file bytes, and with separate classification of outbound traffic for trading and seeding highly flexible bandwidth throttling, including trading/seeding proportion adjustment and adjustable priority for individual transfers and peers bitfield graphs that show the completeness of all downloaded files, what pieces other peers have available, and the health of the overall swarm customizable event logging for each download, and individual event logs for all peers within the swarm expert local file management functions which allow you to move files to a different partition even while downloading is still in progress 100% compatible with the BitTorrent protocol Windows and Linux-GTK native versions available Tixati 3.43 changelog: Several major DHT improvements Added several screening heuristics to filter malicious DHT nodes, prevent Sybil floods Rewrote DHT search algorithms to add support for multi-path lookups Improved DHT logging, more details in several error messages Extended timeout lengths for outgoing queries over I2P Added incoming query / response per second to DHT table status display Updated Regex engine to PCRE2 Faster Search function, scans channel user profiles in much less time Fixed problems with file name parsing and date handling in RSS Faster and more accurate RSS filtering and episode number detection Several optimizations to Several refinements to default gateway detection on Windows / Android, which is used for port-mapping Support for IPv6 interface-scoped addresses, which is sometimes needed for IPv6 gateway detection and port mapping Full support for PCP port remapping, added backup zero-port query in case requested port is rejected New UPNP/NAT-PMP Monitor in Help > Diagnostics New reflected local port/location tracker that analyzes DHT replies to detect true port/location and NAT mapping type New TCP/UDP Ports monitor in Help > Diagnostics, with several statistic and information tabs, and a detailed event log Calculated/reflected local port is now used for port parameter in tracker queries and peer handshake Fixed several problems with Linux Wayland compatibility Completely replaced tray icon functions in Linux, new SNI implementation is now the default with GSI backup Implemented full DBus-Menu server to be used by new SNI tray icon implementation Replaced Linux tray balloon notification DBus client Rewrote auto-shutdown DBus interface for Linux Rewrote sleep inhibit DBus interface for Linux Dropped deprecated Linux dbus-glib dependencies Completely new Windows asynchronous file handling, now using IOCP model with several block-alignment optimizations Better handling of system network resets and interface down/up cycles Added option to fully clear configuration in Settings > • Zed 1.7.2 has landed with updated OpenCode models, bug fixes and other improvements by David Uzondu Zed 1.7.2 recently landed on the stable release channel, bringing a host of AI-related features including automatic context compaction and settings-based skill management, along with other things like better Markdown preview rendering and custom git commands in the graph view. Starting with the AI stuff, the developers introduced "/compact", a command that basically summarizes your conversation history on demand. This tool prevents your active chat window from hitting token limits by compressing older parts of the dialogue into a brief overview. In addition to that, the team relocated skill management to the settings UI, improving how the application communicates errors regarding those skills, and updated the OpenCode model roster to support DeepSeek V4 Flash, MiniMax M3, Qwen 3.7 Plus, and Nemotron 3 Ultra Free. External agent users can also monitor context window cost metrics and delete individual sessions directly from their history. Right-clicking ref labels in the git graph now opens a context menu that runs different actions against selected targets, kind of how VS Code does it. Here are some of the bug fixes this new release brings: The active agent fails to auto-select when creating a new git worktree. A scrollbar unexpectedly appears on wrapped code blocks in the agent chat. Collapse indicators for project headers appear when performing sidebar searches. Bracketed ellipsis title prefixes fail to show the ellipsis icon properly. Project icons render incorrectly in the recent projects picker. Diff hunk controls appear inside non-editable commit view multibuffers. The software update button hangs indefinitely on the downloading stage. Restoring an agent terminal in a remote project triggers a sudden crash. Splitting a pane that contains an active commit view causes a crash. Linux Wayland freezes when trying to read the clipboard from laggy external apps. Zed is a "newish" code editor trying to break the massive stronghold VS Code has on the developer community. Funny enough, the editor was created by former GitHub employees who worked on the Atom text editor (which Microsoft killed in 2022, several years after it bought GitHub). The project officially hit version 1.0 back in April, introducing platform parity for Windows and Linux alongside deep support for DeepSeek-V4-Pro.
    • 26H2 absolutely will support ARM Windows just not on devices that came with 26H1. This is evident by the fact I am running 26H2, which on my MacBook Neo and Surface Pro 12 (inch), within a VM.
